So making yourself comfortable,
Closing your eyes either fully or partially.
Noticing,
Scanning your body,
Noticing any places of tension or pain,
Stress in your body.
This might be very obvious,
Pain,
Tension,
Stress or it might be more subtle.
Maybe you really have to bring some careful attention to find a place of tension,
Pain in your body.
You might even like to put a hand on that place on your body just to connect with it.
We're going to be in connection,
In communion with this place in our body for a few minutes and help to put a hand there to help us to connect.
As you're feeling into that place in your body,
Also tuning into what qualities,
What emotions tend to reside in this place in your body.
What associations do you have with this place in your body?
It might be a quality of strength,
Courage,
Creativity,
Wisdom.
It might be an emotion like love,
Fear,
Anxiety,
Connection.
Whatever resonates for you in this part of your body,
What is that?
What is that quality or emotion?
This is not an intellectual exercise really,
Listening to your body.
What is your body telling you is in this place in your body?
Seeing if there's a connection between the pain and this quality or emotion.
If there's a pain in your belly,
Maybe it's pointing to fear,
Pointing to anxiety,
Maybe pointing to feeling ungrounded.
If there's pain or tension in your chest,
In your heart area,
Maybe there's a feeling of emptiness,
Maybe a sense of longing or sadness or loss there.
If there's a pain in your head,
Is there some way that your creativity is being stretched?
Is there a sense of cognitive dissonance?
Things are happening that don't really make sense to you.
Don't feel aligned with your values.
The paradox is a bit too much.
We need to try hard to find a link.
We're just exploring is there a link between this pain in your body and a quality or emotion that is also in this part of your body?
Then also,
And once again we're not trying too hard and this is not an intellectual exercise,
Is there a value of yours?
A sense of purpose,
A sense of the meaning of your life that is related to this pain and this emotion.
Is this pointing back to something that's really important to you?
Is there information about being out of alignment with your values?
Events being in conflict with your values?
Is there some way that your body is giving you information about your values,
About your alignment with your values,
With your sense of purpose and meaning?
You you Then also moving to some some self soothing as you're feeling into this this situation in your body tending to your body Is there a kind of soothing that It feels like you'd like to welcome it in right now maybe Rubbing that part of your body gently Maybe applying pressure or moving the pressure from one place to another Maybe it's offering some soothing words to yourself addressing yourself as your beloved as the beloved How do you speak to yourself when you're tending to yourself How do you validate acknowledge honor your experience Maybe you offer yourself a self hug hug Maybe you cup your cheeks in your hands Maybe you rest your head on your hand And maybe you curl inward a little bit gathering your energy in Tuning into what resonates in this moment.
What does your body need right now?
What soothing is it asking for?
You Offering our body kindness tending to our body Not to change anything not to chase anything out of our experience It's simply because our body deserves to be tended to The soft animal it deserves our love our attention It deserves to be held as it has its experience It deserves to be just as it is in this moment Notice how getting your Your Focus And as we're now starting to move out of this practice,
Knowing that you can continue to self-soothe,
That process can go on for as long as your body needs it.
You're feeling ready,
Opening your eyes,
Orienting to the space that you're in.
You can continue to self-soothe even as you orient yourself.
You can be even practicing holding both of those,
Being oriented to the space and soothing at the same time.
You might like to stretch to have a sip of your drink,
You might do that as well.
And as we're now moving out of this practice,
Knowing that you can continue to self-soothe,
