Good morning and welcome to your five minute morning meditation to wake up and start your day the right way.

Take a moment to get nice and comfortable,

Settle into your hips,

Roll around in your shoulders,

Gaze over your right shoulder and over your left shoulder and eventually make your way back towards the center.

During meditation practice it's often nice to offer your practice to someone or something,

Maybe a deity or to a higher power,

So if that's something that connects with you this morning,

Just find a moment to make that offering and then begin to attune to the rhythm of your breath.

As you're going to get involved in the act of breathing,

For a couple moments just be the observer of your breath,

So you don't have to change the quality or the rhythm or the texture of your breath,

You just observe the flow,

Watch the breath come in,

Cool and smooth and then watch the exhale as it travels out,

Warm and a little extended,

Feel the sensation underneath your nose,

Behind your lips,

Maybe the back of your throat,

Your chest as it rises and falls with each inhale and each exhale and then you become a little bit more aware of the little pauses in between,

So it's that pregnant pause at the very top of the inhale,

Maybe a little more extended pause at the bottom of your exhale and then you work just to observe them and perhaps you begin to experience this gentle softening as the next couple of breaths wash over you,

By taking some time in the morning,

Even just five minutes,

You begin to cultivate a deeper sense of inner peace,

Gratitude in your heart and begin your day with a little more pep in your step.

Thank you for breathing with me today.
