Welcome back to another guided meditation.
I'm your host Liz Carlisle and you are listening to Motherhood Unstressed.
Now this is a five-minute meditation so I feel the pressure is on and I thought it would be appropriate to do this because it is the 5th of May.
Feliz Cinco de Mayo to everyone.
But let's get started because we don't have that much time but I guess that's kind of the point.
So you can do this meditation lying flat on your back or sitting in a chair.
If you're sitting in a chair make sure your legs are uncrossed and your feet are firmly planted on the ground.
You can also do this meditation sitting cross-legged on the floor with your hands gently resting on your knees.
The point is to be relaxed but also alert.
Feel your body starting to settle into this position.
Notice any tightness you might be feeling right now in your body or any emotions you might be feeling.
Start to deepen your breathing,
Allowing yourself to relax into the position to feel your body,
To become aware of the rhythm of your breathing,
To notice the tiny almost imperceptible sensations that are going on in your body right now.
So let's take an even deeper breath together now for a count of eight.
Hold.
Release.
Hold.
Deep breath in.
Hold.
Release.
Hold.
Last one together.
Deep breath in.
Hold.
Release.
And return to a gentle rhythmic breathing.
So you're becoming more aware of your body moving down from your spine,
Outwards to your arms and your legs,
Enveloping your ribcage,
Moving down into your hips,
Loosening your body,
Lightening any tension,
Anything you're holding on to because you think you have to.
Let all of that go.
Moving your awareness down your legs,
Past your knees to your shins,
To your ankles,
All the way down to the tips of your toes and recirculate that energy back up your body,
Past your hips,
Up your spine,
Over your rib cage again,
Your collarbone,
The back of your neck,
Up your spine further to the base of your head and up and around until you have a keen awareness of every inch of your body and where everything is and everything in this moment is working together and is at peace.
Realize in this moment you are fully connected to your body and as you breathe in you let your body breathe fully.
You send appreciation for the full breath you can take and when you release you release everything that you don't need.
Shame,
Guilt,
Worry,
Fear,
Hate,
Let it leave your body right now.
Let it go and breathe in new life and a solid understanding that you are where you need to be and that you have everything you need to create the life you want.
Take the last minute that we have together to breathe deeply and to exhale everything that you don't need.
We've come to the end of time.
If you want to continue to sit here in meditation by all means please do or if you're ready we can close out this meditation with an Aum if you're feeling adventurous.
