Bismillah wa-rahmanir-rahim,
In the name of the One Most Compassionate,
Most Merciful,
Most Kind.
This is Mark Silver with Heart of Business.
Welcome to the Monday Remembrance.
Just stopping.
Waiting for a moment.
What is it like to just stop for a moment and notice?
Notice the sound of the wind,
The sound of your own breath.
The movement of water,
The beating of your own heart.
And the crackle of a fire,
The passion and the thoughts.
The rise within you,
A dart here or there.
And the solidity of home,
The earth underneath you,
The strength of your own bones.
Just noticing what's true here.
And then calling out to the Divine,
Letting your head bow,
Letting your heart bow.
Finding that open doorway within your heart.
Just letting yourself call to yourself,
Through yourself,
To something much larger.
Something infinitely larger.
Something so large that to care for you is so easy.
It requires no effort.
And so you can have and receive all the care and the support you can imagine because it doesn't take anything that can't be spared or renewed in a moment.
Un-la.
Just calling the name of the Divine through that open doorway.
That calling being the only thing that you do of your own will.
Everything else you're being carried.
Your heart,
Your breath,
Your thoughts.
There are things that you do almost automatically that you wish to shut down.
You think I shouldn't be doing this,
But even those are being carried by the Divine.
And so using all of your strength and all of your will to just call to the Divine,
To call to the Oneness,
Call to the source of love,
Reminding you.
Using all of your limbs and all of your organs and all of your cells that there is indeed a home.
One that you came from and one that you'll return to.
That you carry inside of you.
In every speck of you.
And that home is always accessible.
And it can't be found on the outside.
Un-la.
Un-la.
Un-la.
Un-la.
Un-la.
Un-la.
Un-la.
Un-la.
Un-la.
Then on the face of it,
This is quite absurd.
But as you look more deeply,
As your heart is present more deeply with what is true,
Your mind begins to doubt.
Maybe it isn't so absurd.
And your heart begins to sense and feel what is actually moving.
The strength that I have to do the things that I do.
Where does that strength come from?
Where does my breath come from?
How is it renewed in every moment?
Is there anything that I do alone,
Truly?
Un-la.
Un-la.
And just calling to the divine over and over again.
Calling that speaks of thirst and yearning and contentment and joy and grief and loneliness and fulfillment and community.
The empty cup and the full cup are found in this one calling of the divine.
Un-la.
Un-la.
Un-la.
Un-la.
What is it like to notice that your heart is both content and thirsty,
Sad and happy,
Home and lonely,
Intimate and distant?
What is it like for your heart to begin to taste the infinite within itself through this doorway of connection,
Just continuing to call to the divine?
Un-la.
What does your heart notice?
Just continuing to call and call to the divine.
Un-la.
Un-la.
Un-la.
And remembering this one thing,
The divine,
We remember everything because there is nothing that is outside the one.
And the full breadth of who we are in any moment is entirely contained within the arms of a love.
Un-la.
Un-la.
And noticing if any authentic gratitude or appreciation rises up to express itself for anything that you may have experienced during this time.
Taking the time to express that to the divine.
And then,
If you're wanting to stay in remembrance,
Please do as long as you like.
And if it's time for you to turn your attention back to your day,
Take a nice gentle breath and let yourself return knowing that the remembrance is available to you in any moment.
Peace.
