Let yourself settle in,
In whatever way you know how.
Let your seat be comfortable.
Let your body be balanced so that you're not leaning in one direction and your muscles can relax.
Soften your eyes.
Soften your ears and the impulse to hear,
To go outside of yourself and hear something.
Just let your ears rest.
Let your brain rest.
Let the electrical activity slow down and soften and let the organ of your brain rest inside your skull.
Your tongue,
The root of your tongue,
Your shoulders,
Your heart.
Just attend to your heart for a moment and notice what's there.
Notice what it's holding.
It's like a mother finding her child clinging onto something and saying,
What is that that you have?
Attend to your heart like that.
And as your heart softens,
As you notice what's there,
Let the softening ripple out.
Your arms,
Your lower torso,
Your legs,
The belly organs.
And as everything softens,
You can maybe feel the release of tension like there's something pouring out being released into the atmosphere.
Kind of a subtle holding that's going on all the time.
The muscles,
The nervous system,
The brain,
The heart,
All of that holds.
There's a subtle tension that we're always holding.
See if you can soften a little more.
And as everything softens,
See if you can notice underneath the tension,
There's not a lack of sensation.
Maybe you can feel a sensation that's basically like a vibration.
Like a very subtle vibration that's permeating your whole body.
Wherever you look,
It's there.
A subtle vibration like a low droning sound,
But you feel it rather than hear it.
You might feel it in your muscles,
Your bones,
Your heart,
Your brain.
The vibration is the sound of creation.
It's the sound of Aum.
Don't think about hearing it,
But just look for the experience of your body,
Your being,
Arising into existence in this moment.
Being spoken into existence as the syllable Aum.
The solid Aum.
