Good morning,

And welcome to this meditation designed to walk you through the first moments of waking up.

This meditation can be done at any time,

But is specifically helpful to put on first thing in the morning.

Maybe while you're still laying in bed,

Wherever you are,

Take a few deep breaths,

Starting to breathe into the body,

Bringing a little bit of life and a little bit of awareness to all the places in your body that have been sleeping,

Maybe stiff,

Or just need a little bit of extra awareness and intention this morning.

If you'd like,

You can stretch your body,

Gently saying hello to each part,

Breathing in a way that feels calm but invigorating for you.

Slowly settle back in to a place of stillness,

And notice what are your first few thoughts this morning as you're waking up.

Do you already have a to-do list running through your mind,

Or are you an open blank canvas?

However much activity is in the mind,

See if you can take a few moments to cleanse the mind of your thoughts,

Maybe sending your thoughts out on an exhale to release them and to loosen your grip on anything that the mind is trying to get you to accomplish already.

And let's go through some practices to bring the mind into alignment with a calm,

Productive,

And positive day.

As I state these mantras,

You can rephrase them or you can repeat them in your head or out loud.

As you do so,

Just notice how your body responds and how your mind responds,

And if you get caught in the mind at any point,

Just send your thoughts out on the exhale again.

Repeating after me,

I greet this new day with openness.

I find peaceful moments wherever I can.

I am able to accomplish everything that needs to get done.

I move through my tasks with ease and grace.

I have an open and receptive heart.

I find joy in the interactions I have with others.

I enjoy spending time with myself.

My family is a blessing.

Each breath is an opportunity to choose how I feel.

I have all the resources that I need.

I love who I am and who I'm becoming.

I choose a positive and peaceful day.

Noticing now how those affirmations landed in your mind and in your body.

Most likely,

One or more of them felt not quite completely true yet,

But that doesn't mean that there aren't aspects of it that you can hold on to and move forward with.

As you continue to do this practice each day,

Observe how your feelings around those affirmations shift and change.

Take as much time as you would like here to finish your morning practice,

Perhaps doing some gentle movement or journaling on your own.

As you move throughout your day,

See if there's one affirmation that stands out to you,

That continues to echo in your mind,

That you can maintain as a mantra throughout the day.

And as you do so,

Hold a loving space of openness and awareness for yourself and a loving interaction for all that you cross paths with today.

Thank you for being here with me.

I hope you have a beautiful morning and a wonderful rest of your day.
