Welcome and good morning or good evening,
Wherever you are in the world.
My name is Monika and I'm truly happy you are here,
Joining me for this chanting circle.
You don't need much for the session,
Just your voice,
Your breath and your presence.
If you'd like,
You can have a mala to count the chants,
But that's optional.
Please take a seat that feels comfortable and centered,
Soft yet upright.
Let's take a few moments to arrive.
Close your eyes,
Feel the ground beneath you,
Let your spine lift gently,
Bring your awareness to the breath.
Let's breathe together,
Three heartful breaths,
In through the nose and out through the nose.
Inhaling through the nose,
Exhaling through the nose,
One more time,
Inhaling through the nose and exhaling,
Feel yourself softening,
Arriving,
Opening.
Today we will chant the mantra YAM 108 times.
YAM is the bija,
The seed mantra of the heart chakra,
Also known as anahata,
Located at the center of the chest.
This energy center is the seat of love,
Compassion,
Connection,
Forgiveness and the capacity to give and receive.
Chanting YAM helps us open to life from the heart with softness,
Courage and grace.
It soothes the emotional tension,
Invites tenderness and reminds us that we are never truly separate.
As we chant,
Gently bring your awareness to the heart space,
The area in the center of your chest.
Let the sound resonate through your heart like a gentle wind,
Creating space,
Warmth and connection.
And there's no right or wrong way to join.
You can chant aloud,
Hum softly or simply listen.
Let's begin with three slow YAM to find our shared rhythm.
Soft E,
Long AH and a gentle closing N.
Inhale deeply.
Now we begin our 108 repetitions.
I'll be chanting with you and counting with my mala.
Let the sound move into your chest.
Feel the vibration around your heart,
Lungs and upper spine.
Bring your awareness to the heart center,
The space of stillness within movement.
Let YAM carry you into kindness,
Openness and heartfelt presence.
Let's inhale for YAM.
Now let the sound settle.
Feel the afterglow in your chest.
Notice what is present,
Maybe a sense of warmth,
Softness or quiet expansion.
There is no effort needed.
Just breathe and receive.
If you wish,
Place one or both hands on your heart.
Feel your heartbeat,
Your breath,
Your quiet aliveness.
Mindfully begin to deepen your breath.
Gently move your fingers and shoulders.
Return softly.
Thank yourself for being present,
For chanting,
For opening.
Let's close with one final YAM as a blessing for this day.
Let's inhale.
Namaste and thank you so much for joining this heart-centered practice.
If it touched something within you,
I invite you to join me again.
We will be chanting the vicha mantra HAM for the throat chakra.
I wish you a wonderful day ahead or a good night wherever you are in the world.
Namaste.
