We are all so similar.
None of us wants to suffer and we all long to be loved.
When things are painful,
We tend to push them away.
And when things are pleasurable,
We tend to cling on to them,
Whether we know it or not.
We are all so similar.
That's why connection is so important.
Bringing to mind now people you're close to,
Maybe two,
Three,
Four people in your mind's eye.
Picturing their faces,
Bringing them to life.
The dynamics and details of our lives vary from person to person,
But there are common themes.
Sense,
Feel the common themes between you and the people you're connected to.
The themes of trying,
Failing and then trying again.
The themes of love and loss and joy.
Allowing the image to fade.
But the feeling of connection to remain.
It is not you against the world.
You don't have to work everything out by yourself.
By being open to considering,
Open to acknowledging and accepting the shared aspects of our lives,
The shared aspects of our experiences.
As I said,
The details differ,
But similar stuff happens to lots of us.
By being open to that shared experience,
You become more open to connection,
To learning from others and to mutual support.
We are all on the journey,
This earthly journey.
Some of us are walking,
Some of us are running,
Some of us are crawling and some of us are struggling to get out of bed.
We all have a story.
So you can feel free to stop comparing your wounds and perceived imperfections to others.
Perfection is an absolute illusion.
You really can stop comparing yourself.
We are all sacred beings having a human experience,
All of us.
So take it easy on yourself and take it easy on others,
Please.
Be open to learning.
Be open to connecting.
Be open to giving and receiving support.
After all,
We are all just walking each other home.
And thank you so much for practicing with me today.
