Hello there and thank you for showing up for a walk with me today.

Today we're just gonna start like always with gratitude for our bodies as we begin putting one foot in front of the other and starting our journey.

It doesn't matter where you're walking or how you're walking,

It's about one foot in front of the other,

Your own personal journey as we reflect today.

We're gonna take a deep breath in with gratitude for our beautiful bodies that allow us to walk and take in the space around us.

Just look around with gratitude for wherever you are,

Whether you're indoors or a natural environment or maybe in your neighborhood.

Just look around with gratitude for the places that you are because it's all about perspective sometimes.

In today's reflection,

We're gonna talk a little bit about perspective and letting go and trusting the process.

So right now with a deep breath in,

Just look around with gratitude for your journey,

For your process today as we're going for a walk.

And we're just gonna take a quick moment to scan our bodies from our heads to our feet.

Just notice how are you feeling today?

Are there aches and pains we can send some breath to?

Is there a feeling of strength,

Maybe some fatigue?

No matter what your body is feeling,

Take a deep breath in with gratitude for this magnificent beautiful body that's allowing you to go for a walk today.

Now as we're taking that deep breath in,

I can't help but reflect on our systems,

Our body systems,

Our breath.

Most of the time throughout our day,

We're breathing and we're not even aware that we're breathing.

The air is going in,

The air is going out,

It's nourishing our body,

It's doing what it needs to do.

We don't have to think about it.

It is such a vital life force.

Without breath,

We don't have life.

But yet we do it most of the day subconsciously.

Sometimes you stop and focus on your breath,

Perhaps to change a mood,

To change a situation,

To change a reaction.

But majority of the day,

We just trust that this system is working.

We have faith in our bodies to take care of us and allow us to breathe.

And coupled with that,

We have our circulatory system,

Our hearts that are pumping blood through our bodies.

And again,

We don't think about that.

Perhaps if we're walking faster or we're doing something active,

We may become aware of our hearts.

But most of the time during the day,

Our hearts are just busy working away,

Making things happen,

Pumping the blood,

Pumping the nutrients and the oxygen throughout our body.

And we can just trust that this is happening.

We don't have to think about it.

So right now as we're walking,

Take a deep breath in with gratitude for our circulatory system that allows us to not have to think about it as it works hard for us day in and day out.

Our digestive system as well,

We take in nutrients.

We take in the very fuel that allows us to walk,

To move,

To do what we want to do.

We take in that nourishment and then we expel what no longer serves us.

And we trust that this is happening.

We don't have to think about it.

We don't have to tell our stomachs what to do and what not to do.

We don't have to tell our throats to swallow.

We don't have to tell our stomachs to digest.

We don't have to tell our intestines to absorb nutrients.

It just happens.

We can trust the system.

And even if we think of the adverse that sometimes when we eat something that disagrees with us,

That's also a system.

It's a system that's letting us know that something is wrong,

That something's going on that we need to change.

Maybe it's a reaction to a certain food or an allergic reaction.

But even those adverse feelings are also a system alerting us.

So when we think about these systems and we think about the fact that we have to trust these systems,

It's a metaphor for that bigger sense of trust,

That universal sense of trust that we are part of something bigger,

That we are part of something that allows us to grow,

That we've come here with something to learn.

We've come here with a request saying,

This is the lesson I want to learn.

And so the systems are created in order to give us the very experiences that we need to learn.

And we can trust that this is happening.

Sometimes whether we're conscious of it or not,

And more often than not,

The learning comes after the fact.

But just like with our digestive system,

Even the adverse situations,

Even the painful situations,

The challenging situations are the very ones that we learn from.

In fact,

Pain and sorrow and some of the adverse reactions,

Jealousy,

Fear,

They alert us to something being wrong,

Something that we may want to try and change.

And so by trusting the system,

By trusting that we are part of a bigger system that's moving and working for us and around us without our conscious thought.

But if we go a little step further with that,

The things are happening without our conscious thought,

But we can also affect our systems by taking deep breaths.

We can release serotonin and dopamine into our brain and make ourselves feel better.

When we're agitated and anxious,

Taking deep breaths can help us to relax and calm,

Giving us some control over our situation.

With our circulatory system,

If we exercise and regularly give cardiovascular care to our hearts,

We can influence the strength of our hearts and what we're capable of doing.

So we can influence these systems.

Our digestive system,

Same thing,

If we take in food that is rich in nourishment and nutrients,

It's going to affect us in a positive way.

And if we take in foods that affect us in an adverse way,

We're going to be alerted to there being a problem.

So we can,

Even though we are part of a system and things are in place,

They're helping us to learn and to grow and to allow our souls to evolve,

We're also able to affect these systems,

Learn from these systems,

Become aware of what's going on.

And a lot of it is that sense of awareness.

So right now,

As we're walking,

Take a moment to focus in on your breathing.

How is your breathing right now?

Is it quicker and shallower?

Are you able to take a deep breath?

Are you walking quickly?

Is your breathing becoming faster?

Maybe you're walking slow and leisurely and you can take a deep breath.

Just pay attention right now to your breath.

And then take a deep breath in or hold your breath just to experience that moment of change that you can affect and become aware of the reaction it has.

Now take a moment and become aware of your heart.

How is your heart beating?

As we've been walking,

If you're walking quickly,

Perhaps your heart is beating a little faster.

Maybe it's hard to be aware of your heart.

How is your heart feeling?

Right now,

Try speeding up your walk a little and seeing how that affects your heart and reflect on the fact that you can make conscious changes to a system that's working unconsciously for you.

And so that gives us a moment to pause about what in your life can you become more conscious of in order to affect the influence,

Affect what your life is and what you want it to be?

What are some of the little things that you can focus on or make changes?

What are the areas of noticing either celebration or discomfort?

We move closer towards celebration.

We move away from discomfort.

So what aspects in your life,

The system of your life,

The part of it that works unconsciously as you move through life,

As your soul is evolving and learning and finding you situations for you to learn and evolve from?

What are some of the conscious things that you can do to make changes,

To have your life become more what you want it to be,

To affect how you are in the world?

Take a deep breath for the power that you have,

The infinite power that you have to affect your life and make changes.

And even if it's one small step,

Just like we're walking one foot in front of the other,

One small step moves you forward and then another and another and another and another.

And next thing you know,

You've traveled a distance.

One is one small step that you can take to consciously affect that trusted process and journey of your own life.

I believe that you have the power to make whatever changes,

Whatever little steps in the direction you want to go,

One foot in front of the other,

Consciously making change to this beautiful,

Mystical experience that we call life.

Thank you,

My friends,

For joining me on this walk today.

God bless you.

You you you

I was feeling fear but meditation brought me back around to the other side of my understanding, courage is fear turned inside out. Your "walk" was in my mind. Trying ever so hard to believe it's possible to create new neuro pathways after trauma and depression. Thank you.
