Today we're going to focus on using positive affirmations to ease our feelings of stress and ensure we are doing all that we can to create a peaceful environment for ourselves.

Oftentimes when our bodies and mind feel stress,

We go into overload and become stuck in a negative space.

When we feel ourselves heading in that direction,

A helpful tool to change our way of thinking is to repeat positive affirmations.

Positive affirmations can help us release some of the stress that we're feeling and replace those feelings with comforting words that bring us more ease into our lives.

Let's start by settling into a comfortable position somewhere quiet with no interruptions.

Close your eyes and focus on your breath.

Take a deep breath in for a count of three.

Hold for a count of three and exhale loudly for a count of three.

Repeat three more times.

In for three.

Hold for three.

Out for three.

In for three.

Hold for three.

Out for three.

In for three.

Hold for three.

Out for three.

Next,

Turn your attention to your mind.

As random thoughts pass through it,

Let them go easily and effortlessly.

Recognize each thought and then let it pass by.

Feel yourself becoming more comfortable as attention slips from your mind and body and sails out of the room.

Once again,

Bring your focus back to your breath,

But this time,

Notice its slow and simple pace as you easily breathe in and out.

As you breathe,

Bring to mind the following words and repeat them either out loud or silently to yourself.

I make time to nourish my mind,

Body,

And soul.

Repeat the words again.

I make time to nourish my mind,

Body,

And soul.

Sit with these words for a few moments as you repeat them silently to yourself.

I make time to nourish my mind,

Body,

And soul.

Now,

Let's try another one.

Repeat the following words either out loud or silently to yourself.

My mind is at ease.

My body is relaxed.

My soul is content.

Say the words again.

My mind is at ease.

My body is relaxed.

My soul is content.

Now sit with these words for a few moments as you repeat them silently to yourself.

My mind is at ease.

My body is relaxed.

My soul is content.

Feeling lighter and more at peace,

Start to bring your awareness back to your surroundings.

Stretch your arms overhead.

Slowly blink your eyes open and go back to your day,

Content and knowing you can repeat these affirmations to yourself anytime you need them.
