Thank you for being here.
My name is Namisha and this is part two of the Take a Moment mini-series,
A four-part journey to reflect,
Reconnect,
Realign and refocus.
In this session we focus on reconnecting to yourself,
Your breath and your inner calm centre.
It's easy to get pulled in many directions but this is your loving invitation to return home to you.
Together we'll create a sense of presence and connection with a gentle body scan and reconnect you with a desired emotion that you can carry with you into your day and beyond.
Find a comfortable sitting position,
Take a deep breath and let's connect within.
A wise monk once said sometimes we just need to take a breath,
Feel and remember who we really are.
Close your eyes if you can and allow yourself to arrive here and now.
Leave any distractions,
Any noise,
The to-do list,
Leave it all behind and gift yourself this moment of reconnection.
And let me invite you to take a slow deep breath in through the nose and a long soft breath out through the mouth.
Sigh it out.
Let's do that two more times.
In through the nose,
Out through the mouth.
Relax your body,
Relax your belly.
One more like this.
Breathe in through the nose,
Breathe out through your mouth.
Sigh it all out.
Let it go,
Let it go,
Let it go.
Now allow your breath to flow in its own natural rhythm and simply notice the gentle rise and fall.
No need to change anything.
Simply breathing,
Simply being.
Now let's move on to a gentle body scan.
Begin to bring your awareness to the crown of your head.
Slowly scan your attention down through your forehead.
Relaxing as you go.
Notice the eyes,
Jaw.
Notice where there's ease and where there's any tension and simply relax as you go.
Now bring your attention to your neck.
Relax your neck,
Your shoulders.
Relax your shoulders.
Relax your shoulders.
Down through to the arms.
Relax your arms and your hands.
Now bring your attention to your chest,
Your belly,
Your hips.
Relax.
Notice where there's ease and if there's any tension,
Allow yourself to soften in those places.
Now bring your attention to your thighs,
Your calves,
Your ankles,
Your feet.
Feel your whole body relax and feel the connection from the top of your crown to the tip of your toes.
Reconnected.
Now gently bring your attention to your heart space.
And if it feels right for you,
You can place your hands over your heart.
This is your center.
The space of truth,
Wisdom and compassion.
Feel into it.
Gently,
Softly,
Lightly,
Inviting a smile on your face.
And simply whisper silently to yourself,
I reconnect with my body.
I reconnect with my heart space.
And now let's move on to reconnecting with an emotion.
And I would invite you to ask yourself,
What's one emotion I want to reconnect with today?
Maybe it's calm.
Maybe it's joy,
Trust,
Groundedness,
Confidence,
Courage.
Whatever comes up for you.
Trust it,
Lovely one.
And let me invite you to whisper that emotion in your heart.
And now imagine what it would feel like to truly embody that emotion.
How would your breath feel?
How would your shoulders rest?
What would shift in your facial expressions?
How would you feel in your chest,
Your belly?
Allow yourself to bring up this emotion and be with it.
Breathe it in and let it radiate throughout your whole body.
Allow the emotion to fill every part of your being.
As much or as little as feels safe and right for you.
You're not chasing it.
You're not forcing it.
You're simply allowing it.
You're reconnecting with it.
As Rumi said,
Your task is not to seek for love,
But merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it.
Today we reconnect.
Take a deep breath here in through your nose.
And gently out through your nose.
And slowly bring your awareness back to the room.
Back to your breath.
Back to your body resting here.
Feel the ground beneath you.
Gently wiggle your fingers.
Wiggle your toes.
And when you're ready,
Gently open your eyes.
And as you do,
Take a moment to notice how you feel.
And know that this space of reconnection is always available to you.
You don't have to wait for a break,
A holiday or a crisis.
Just one moment is enough.
