Hello,

And welcome to this session designed to comfort you on these late nights when you're feeling alone.

When it's hard to get back to sleep or even to rest in the first place,

It's nice to have some company and comfort.

Sometimes,

Our thoughts can try to trap us in feelings,

Beliefs,

And realities that are painful.

When we focus on this,

We scan our lives for evidence that confirms these painful realities,

Which makes it even more real.

As always,

What we focus on,

We will find.

What would you like to focus on together?

What are you needing tonight?

Take a deep breath in with me,

Beginning to soothe these emotional aches and pains.

On the exhale,

Come away from your day,

Just following my voice.

Take another deep breath in,

Starting to soothe these emotions.

Exhaling away your day,

Just following my voice.

Take another deep breath in,

Right into these emotional pains,

Bringing in a calming air.

On the exhale,

Coming further away from everything,

Following my voice.

Good.

As you return your breathing to normal,

Just notice the gaps of space we've created here.

How does it feel to have a little more space to breathe?

Now,

Just imagine any residual thoughts,

Emotions,

Beliefs,

And expectations being pulled out of you and suspended into the air.

Notice how they just hover,

And there's no need to interact with any of them.

Just let them float.

They can simply just exist externally,

Without attachment.

Just as you don't need to be changed or suppressed.

What does it feel like to just exist without anything pulling at you?

Breathe here for a moment.

Notice how your breath is like a cleansing rain,

Washing away the thick mud of your thoughts.

Let me remind you that you can decide what you want to keep,

And what you want to delete.

You can even wipe the slate clean and start from scratch.

As you are detached from these things,

Take a moment to glance over these hovering themes,

Deleting and planting seeds of what you would like moving forward.

Great work.

Take a deep breath in,

Noticing what's different.

On the exhale,

Integrating these new edits.

Now imagine in your mind's eye the evolution of these edits.

As you've done some cleaning up and have planted seeds,

What could this look like down the line?

What does this cleanup give way to?

Good.

And if you'd like to drift off into a comfortable,

Restorative rest,

Continue to bring your focus to the word sleep.

Maybe you can see it spelled out in front of you.

Maybe it has a fragrance to it,

A warmth or a weight.

But something deep within you knows what this message means,

And knows exactly what to do with it.

Breathe into the word sleep,

And exhale,

Sinking deeper into it.

Now stay with you a while in silence.

As you ease deeper and deeper into this rest,

I'll be here looking after you as you drift off into sleep.
