Years ago when the kids were small,
My niece was about two and she said chair.
Now when she said the word,
I saw that she became the chair on some subtle levels,
Like she was actually experiencing the essence of the chair as she spoke.
I mean it was a total unity of mind and body,
Of the concrete with being somehow.
There was no mind-body split in that.
That's what I'm talking about.
There was no mind-body split.
She just was the chair.
She was the essence of the chair.
When we,
As we grow,
Our minds kind of crunch those experiences and become more symbolic.
So,
You know,
As a child we saw so many chairs,
So we just then,
I mean it would just be too time consuming to experience the essence of every chair when we said chair.
So we start just saying chair without experiencing the essence of it.
This is what I mean.
We become symbolic.
Okay,
So in Aboriginal cultures they keep the feeling like the child.
So for them,
You know,
The sun is father god,
The moon is mother god,
And the ocean's god,
And all the plants are god and other people are god.
So they have a felt experience of their surroundings.
So we're maybe getting a little too symbolic.
So if we get too symbolic what happens is we can walk by somebody on the street who's in real trouble or even dying and we can walk by and be numb to our joint humanity and just have a symbolic experience like,
Oh there's poverty or this is the cost of homelessness or you know there's drug addiction and lose the experience of there's another human being in trouble and that could happen to me too.
You know this I think is why Christ said,
You know,
As you,
You know,
Something basically I'm paraphrasing it as you treat the worst of you that's how you're treating me.
So I just wanted to say all this and that maybe we're,
We should take care of childhood,
The early childhood to six more carefully.
I mean Waldorf doesn't teach reading till eight because they believe,
The Waldorf school,
Because they believe that the child's not ready for that intellectual development and I think they're saying they don't want to really bring in the mind-body split too early.
Yeah and this mind-body split,
You know,
Is in our,
The western philosophy as well.
So it's kind of,
You know,
Where it's,
You know,
God is somewhere else other than in the human experience like God is,
You know,
The church spire points up that God is somewhere up,
You know,
High up over us,
You know,
Maybe even judging us.
That's the mind-body split because the scientists know everything's made out of energy and you're God,
Everything around you is part of God.
That energy is unconditional love.
So I'm making the video just because I think if we took better care of the innocence of little kids,
They'd keep their connection to their hearts better and,
You know,
We would return to a more grounded,
Sane,
Compassionate life.
Okay,
Bless your hearts.
