This is the biggest misunderstanding I come across over and over again in students of spirituality,
Especially ones that don't have access to a teacher.
And it's around the witness,
The process of witnessing.
And that process of witnessing is crucial to the journey.
It's when the real journey really begins.
So,
What happens before this really begins?
Well,
Most of us,
Just in the natural human state of the usual,
You know,
Snoozing person,
We have part of us that watches our experience already.
But it's often watching our experience with a defensiveness.
It will be like,
Okay,
You know,
Life out there is dog-eat-dog.
I've got to take care of number one.
Nobody else is going to watch over me.
I have to watch out for my best interests.
I have to be alert to make sure nobody's tricking me or that I'm being gullible.
Yeah,
All of us can feel that maybe in ourselves somewhere.
Okay,
So the spiritual journey starts in getting through that to the neutral observer.
Because the defended observer I just spoke about is the ego.
And it can be very seductive.
It will say,
Oh,
You really need me to take care of you.
And it will give you kind of all kinds of expert advice.
It'll go,
You know,
As if it's the expert.
Especially,
You know,
When it comes to something close to your heart,
It will say,
Oh,
Be careful,
Be careful.
You know,
Danger,
Danger.
Okay,
Now,
As I said,
The real journey starts when you get through that part and you reach the true observer,
Who is your soul in human form.
I mean,
Your soul.
You know,
You're dreamt up by your soul.
Your soul is watching you and taking care of you.
Yeah.
And in the light coming from the soul,
You will receive guidance.
Most of it,
In my experience,
Is nonverbal.
It will just be in the light of our true nature,
Which we're allowing to witness us,
That does witness us.
And then we're conscious of this witnessing.
We will see our darkness.
It'll illuminate our selfishness or our trickiness.
And it's sort of like being called out by your best friend.
You know,
You get exposed and you really want the good opinion of your best friend.
It's the same with wanting the good opinion of your soul.
Because,
You know,
The more we clear our darkness,
The louder the soul becomes.
And the more we feel this immortal love that we're made out of,
The more peace we get.
So it's sort of like giving up our tricks and our selfishness to achieve peace.
It's a good bargain.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So the mean,
Scary part is when we're moving from the defended witness,
That's our ego.
We're moving,
We're making a shift,
We're opening to our true nature,
The loving witness,
A neutral witness.
The ego will say,
This is the most dangerous thing you can do,
Don't do it,
Don't do it,
You'll die if you do.
But it is just the ego's defensiveness that will die.
And you know,
When our knee-jerk defensiveness dies,
We see a lot more.
Like the person who's let their soul in to guide their life is a lot smarter.
A lot wiser,
Doesn't get fooled.
You get more intelligent because you're drawing on this immortal wisdom,
This immortal intelligence.
Yeah.
So I know the world,
You know,
It looks even now more that we need to defend ourselves.
But just keep in mind that the true observer is a neutral observer,
A loving observer.
And as you allow this energy in,
It takes very good care of you.
Truly,
I've seen this over and over again in my own life and in the lives of the people around me.
So,
You know,
I just wanted to shine a light on all this and spell it out.
Okay,
Many blessings.
