Meditation on the eternal good.
Begin in a comfortable seated position.
Let your hands rest softly in your lap or on your knees.
Begin to breathe slowly and naturally.
Allow yourself to settle,
To become present in this moment.
With every inhale,
Breathe in calm.
With every exhale,
Release tension.
Feel the weight of your body supported by the earth beneath you.
Allow your shoulders to soften.
Relax your jaw.
Let your breath deepen naturally.
Begin to turn your awareness inward,
Away from the noise of the outer world.
Bring to mind the gentle truth,
There is both good and challenge in every life.
But these forces are not equal.
Kabbalah teaches us that good is real,
Inherently real.
It is connected to the eternal.
It is part of the soul.
And your soul,
Like all good,
Is forever.
Now allow yourself to reflect.
Anything negative you've experienced,
Any sadness,
Pain,
Or loss,
May feel overwhelming.
But that pain is transient.
It may be sharp,
But it will fade.
The good,
However,
Remains.
What is truly good in your life is eternal.
The smile of a loved one.
The integrity of your choices.
The joy of creating,
Of helping,
Of being.
These are not fleeting.
They are rooted in what is.
Imagine now a beam of light deep within your heart.
This is the essence of good within you.
It is linked to the infinite.
This light is not dimmed by hardship or sorrow.
It shines through them.
With each breath,
See this light growing.
It expands to surround your entire body.
And as it grows,
It reveals the truth.
You are made of something eternal.
The good in you cannot be erased.
Now,
Gently bring to mind someone you love.
Perhaps someone no longer with you in this world.
Feel the connection between your soul and theirs.
That connection is not broken.
It is not lost.
Because the soul is eternal.
And so is love.
Even through tears,
This connection brings light.
Kabbalah teaches the truly existing and everlasting will always outlast the transient.
Let yourself feel that now.
That which is painful will pass.
That which is good will remain.
Take this moment now to bring to mind a few things in your life that are deeply good.
It could be a meaningful friendship.
A lesson learned through difficulty.
A moment of peace,
However small.
A good deed you've done or someone has done for you.
As each one arises,
Acknowledge its weight,
Its reality.
Let gratitude for these pieces of eternal good fill your chest.
Now,
Gently repeat to yourself,
Quietly or silently,
The good in my life is real.
It is everlasting.
It outweighs the temporary pain.
I am connected to what truly matters.
Take a few final breaths here.
Feel the eternal calm within you.
When you are ready,
Gently bring your awareness back to the room.
Wiggle your fingers and toes.
Open your eyes.
And carry this knowing with you.
Goodness is not only possible,
It is permanent.
