Today we're talking about claim your truth.

Keep your own counsel.

It can be tempting to ask others for advice and it may be valuable to hear their wisdom but in the end you must make your own decisions.

The opinions of others are of less value than your own heart's knowing.

When you connect to your heart,

Which is where the soul resides,

Your answer is always clear.

The universe.

So at different times of our lives or depending on what your sort of personality style is,

We have this tendency to ask other people for their advice and maybe this might be our family.

We talk things over with our family and get their input or maybe this might be our friends or it might be colleagues or it might be a love relationship and so we're sort of all always out there asking everyone else,

What should I do?

What do you think about this?

What do you think is the best choice?

What would you do?

What's your opinion?

Or,

You know,

Maybe we're not asking for others input and they're giving it to us anyway.

What you should do is this and so on.

So,

You know,

Different personality styles have different comfort levels with asking for advice and or receiving unexpected advice but the key to know here is that nobody can give you your truth except for yourself.

The most wise person may be able to give you some insight but your heart is where you do the true sorting of what you want,

What's going on,

What's your really feeling and only you have the wisdom to know what is right for you.

So there's this idea that we have to claim our truth.

We have to claim the responsibility to make our own decisions and to know our own wisdom and this is part of our soul growth.

So part of our soul growth is in this passage of,

You know,

When we're pre-adolescent or when we're adolescent,

We're in this hub of friends thought and we rely on our friends for everything and we ask them for advice and everything is turned over to the group and this is because at that stage in our development we haven't developed ourselves independently from other people.

We haven't developed ourselves so that we can think our issues through and make and make decisions.

We're too young to know how to do that yet and then as we move along we gain this ability to make our own decisions and then we sort of get,

Not always,

But there's this tendency as we go along and the challenges in life get bigger.

We're faced with bigger things like our death and if we're happy and if we're doing our life's calling and why are we here and the challenges get bigger,

The questions get more confusing,

There's a whole lot more gray area.

In fact it's kind of all gray area and making decisions is harder because one,

We've seen the patterns,

We've had the experiences,

We know that making a quote wrong decision is going to be painful or maybe the decisions we're faced with are going to be painful anyway if you have to leave relationships or do other things that are challenging.

This idea of claiming your own truth becomes even more important because we tend to,

When we're faced with really,

You know,

Tricky choices,

We're faced often with,

You know,

The tendency to ask everyone we know for advice or,

You know,

Use tarot or use a astrology,

Use these systems that will be these definitive answer givers and it's okay to use those again for guidance but when it comes down to it,

You have to make the decision of your own heart.

You have to know what your own heart wants and you have to decide based on your truth,

You have to claim your truth.

So if you've been,

You know,

In a quandary for a while,

This idea of claiming your truth is especially important and then the other thing to know about this teaching is when you connect your heart,

Which is where the soul resides,

Your answer is always clear.

We sometimes think the soul is kind of like hovering over our head like some kind of halo but what the universe is saying over and over again is that the soul is in the heart.

The heart is where the soul resides and this is something to understand when you're looking for your truth.

Look to your heart and claim what's there.
