Sitting comfortably with the back as straight as possible,
Shoulders back and relaxed,
Head facing forward,
Neck relaxed,
Seated cross-legged on the floor or in a chair with the soles of the feet flat on the floor.
In our meditation practice,
We seek to perceive that which is beyond the senses,
That which we can refer to as the true nature of self.
Let us first begin by clearing the mental space,
Knowing that that truth cannot be grasped by the mind.
As you clear that space,
Clear with humility,
With heart,
With sincerity.
We hold an intention to be guided,
To be shown truth,
That realization of who we really are.
Since the mind cannot grasp it,
Our senses cannot perceive it.
Let us just open up our space to grace and guidance.
Give attention to the silence,
That gap between thought.
Welcome the silence.
Embrace the silence.
If thought cannot perceive this truth that I am seeking,
Let me embrace the silence.
Stay aware of the breath because it connects us to all dimensions of being.
Breath brings balance to our vital physical nature,
Our emotional being in nature,
Our mental being.
Seek to lengthen the gap between each inhale before the exhale.
That silence,
That stillness.
As you hold the silent space,
Open up the belly to breathe,
The chest to breathe,
And then give attention to the entire spinal column,
Showing respect and awareness to every level of being.
Giving attention and caring.
Welcome the meditative space within you and seek grace and seek guidance.
Stay in the rhythm of the breath,
In the silence of the mind,
But with an open heart,
Longing to receive the grace,
The guidance,
The wisdom.
Stay completely present to this moment.
Open up to every part of your being.
Stay open to every piece of guidance you receive.
Open up to your intuitive nature.
Follow what naturally comes to you,
Whether it is a mantra,
A prayer,
Or following subtle prompts,
The subtle energy within your being.
Go with it,
Follow it.
Stay centered,
Stay focused,
Stay with the breath,
Stay open.
Don't let yourself fluctuate.
Don't let yourself fluctuate.
Be here in this moment and slowly begin to expand the attention back to the space around you,
To the world around you,
As we begin to bring our practice to a close.
In this moment,
Be in gratitude to the power that lies within.
It is through this grace that we can experience that which cannot be known,
Cannot be perceived by the senses or the mind.
And we close this practice with a wish,
A prayer for all.
May all be happy.
May all be healthy.
May all be well.
Aum Peace.
Peace,
Peace.
Shanti,
Shanti,
Shanti.
Wherever you are,
I wish you a wonderful day or evening or night of recognizing the importance of gratitude for every experience in the spiritual space that you have of that which cannot be perceived by the senses,
That which you experience by direct perception.
Be grateful for all the experiences that you have had,
All the grace and all the guidance to those who have supported you on your journey,
Whether seen or unseen.
May that grace continue to guide you on your journey.
