That was helpful in bringing awareness to my inner critic and to distance myself from it. I had a fairly negative childhood by being neglected a lot, and witnessed drug use and violence. So I tend to have an unhealthy disposition at times of reflection. I seem to have this same critic badgering me when I sit and reflect. It’s like a reoccurring record at times just affirming these unhealthy thoughts. They did shape my life for a very long period of my life and still creep in while reflecting and meditating. I hope I can can continue to focus and learn to quiet these negative emotions.
