Welcome, beautiful soul, to this deeply reflective guided meditation inspired by the Full Moon in Leo. The meditation starts with the calming of mind and body and continues on to give time for the realization of your True Self - Pure Awareness, and also to reflect on a shift of perspective regarding the ego. It's my heartfelt wish that you will find this meditation beneficial. Welcome,

Beautiful soul,

To this guided,

Reflective meditation on the ego and true self.

A time to metaphorically blow away the clouds that cover the sun and discover your true self,

Pure awareness.

The full moon often brings a heightened awareness of duality,

That is our perception of duality,

And we can find ourselves navigating a path of contrasts,

In particular a path where our intense individuality meets the broader spectrum of collective existence.

Find a comfortable position and take a deep breath.

You are invited to tell yourself that this time in reflective meditation is only a small period of your day,

That any problems,

Agendas and worries are permitted to be forgotten during this time,

Only to be remembered after the meditation is finished.

Bring awareness to the sensations of your face and neck,

Of the air on your skin,

Of any tension held around the forehead,

Eyes,

Jaw and tongue,

And relax,

Releasing tension.

Bring awareness to your shoulders,

Arms and hands,

The feeling of your clothes,

Of warmth or coolness,

Of tension and relax.

Bring awareness to your chest and upper back,

Of the feeling of your clothes,

Of warmth or coolness,

The rise and fall of your chest.

Recognise any tension and release it.

Bring awareness to your tummy and lower back,

Release any tension.

Bring awareness to your trunk,

Feel the firmness of your seat,

Notice any remaining tension and relax.

Bring awareness to your thighs,

Of your arms resting,

Release any tension.

Bring awareness to your calves,

Release any tension.

Bring awareness to your feet,

Feel the firmness of where they rest,

Release any tension.

You are safe.

Focus now on your breath,

Breathing from the belly,

Filling your chest and lungs to the count of 3,

Just as when pouring water into a glass it fills from the bottom upwards.

On your exhale to the count of 3,

Emptying from the top down,

Just as when emptying a glass of water,

It empties from the top down.

Be aware of the coolness of the breath in and the warmth of the breath out.

Until the goal,

Continue with this peaceful practice.

Return to your natural breathing rhythm.

In this meditation you will be invited to reflect on your ego and on your true self,

Pure awareness.

The inner work of bringing consciousness to our individualistic natures and limiting beliefs may be challenging.

Witnessing as a detached observer may be helpful.

Reflection on your absolute reality can be liberating.

Introvert or extrovert,

The ego loves to take centre stage in the theatre of duality.

It gives the sense of separateness instead of oneness,

Of competition instead of cooperation,

Of self-righteousness and blame instead of right action and acceptance.

It drives through desires and fear with the aim of covering the knowledge of your true self with a veil of spiritual ignorance.

Yet,

Everything is one.

All that exists is one.

We are blessed with the consciousness of our existence.

As a conscious being,

Nothing exists outside of your consciousness.

Your very consciousness brings the object of your observation via the senses into being.

Until the gong,

You are invited to reflect on the following.

You are both the knower and the known.

The rose exists because you see it,

Smell it,

Feel it.

You are the knower of the rose.

You are also the rose which is known,

Because without your consciousness,

It would not exist in your experience.

This is oneness.

In the sense of our relationships to other sentient beings,

As we are the knower and the known,

What we do to others,

We do to ourselves.

You are invited to return to the prior yogic breathing practice with an in-breath of 3 seconds and an exhale of 3 seconds.

Now extend the out-breath to 6 seconds,

Breathing in for the count of 3 and out for the count of 6.

Now at the end of each inhalation and exhalation,

Hold the breath for a period that is comfortable to you.

Do not force anything and should you feel uncomfortable,

Return to breathing in for 3 and out for 6 without the hold.

Continue until the gong.

Should your mind wander,

Gently bring it back to the breath.

To help with this,

There will be periodic wind chimes sounding.

The music will now fade out.

In the quiet space between the breaths,

Realise your true self,

Unlimited,

Unchanging,

Full,

Whole,

Complete and eternal.

Return to your natural gentle breathing rhythm.

There is nothing in this life experience that can touch,

Harm,

Change or destroy your true self.

Until the gong,

Reflect on the truth that there is no competition.

We are all in this together and how this change of perspective may change your life experience.

In a world of apparent duality,

There is the ability to recognise that our perceptions have produced unique presentations of the small self,

In us and in the people and things we relate to.

Yet beyond there is only one true essence.

In this knowledge,

Our relationship to all that this life experience presents,

A shift occurs where we can appreciate,

Accept and be grateful for each moment.

Where there is no desire to be right,

To blame,

To be divisive.

Where the recognition of the divinity within us is in everything.

This shift allows us to manage our emotions,

Our fears,

Our thoughts and actions,

To express ourselves compassionately,

Sensitively and authentically in alignment with our truth.

You are empowered to journey this life experience with pure awareness,

Recognising your individuality for what it is and embracing collective unity,

Removing the clouds that cover your light,

The unlimited,

Boundless,

Eternal self.

As this meditation draws to a close,

I invite you to spend some time in gratitude for all that is.

Focus on your breathing for a few cycles.

In your own time,

Gently open your eyes.

Please join with me in one Om and three Shanties.
