This short, playful meditation helps children calm their bodies and minds using simple belly breathing. Hello little one,

Let's get cozy.

You can sit or lie down,

Whatever feels best for your body.

Just take a moment to feel your body resting.

Your hands can come to rest on your belly if you'd like,

And you can soften your gaze or close your eyes if you'd like to.

Now,

Let's take a slow breath in,

And feel your belly rise like a balloon filling with air.

Breathe out gently,

Feeling the balloon shrink back down.

Again,

Breathe in,

Your balloon grows big and round,

And breathe out,

Your balloon gets soft and small.

Can you imagine your balloon has a color?

Maybe it's yellow,

Or green,

Or rainbow.

Each time you breathe in,

Your balloon fills with that beautiful color,

And when you breathe out,

That color gently shines all around you.

Take a few more balloon breaths,

In and out,

Slow and gentle.

Your balloon is resting quietly inside you,

And whenever you need,

You can take a balloon breath to feel safe,

Peaceful,

And calm again.

And when you're ready,

Give yourself a big hug,

And slowly open your eyes.

May you have a wonderful day,

And always remember,

You are loved,

You are whole,

And you are
