Here is a meditation for injury or illness to restore yourself to wellness and good health.
Before you begin,
Just settle back into a comfortable position.
Just let everything go and recline back in your chair or lie down on your mat or bed.
And really think just about letting go and letting be and devoting yourself to this practice.
Let's all begin by taking in a nice deep breath in through the nose,
Holding it and then letting it all go in a nice long exhale.
One more beautiful inhale in through the nose,
Holding it at the top if you can,
If that's available to you.
And then letting it all go,
Lengthening that exhale and letting it all go,
Letting be.
Take the time here to adjust yourself just to find a posture that's relaxed,
Comfortable,
Supports your back.
And whenever you're ready,
Gently close your eyes so that you can begin to focus inward.
And right here,
Let's breathe in again,
Breathe out.
One more time,
Deep breath in,
Holding it and then letting it all go.
Even feel your shoulders releasing,
Everything releasing.
You've been through a lot physically,
Emotionally,
Mentally and spiritually.
So take the time here to be kind to yourself and just scan your body for any stress telling each part of your body to relax.
So gently bring your awareness to your feet and tell your feet and your toes,
Ankles and heels to relax and let go.
Calves relaxing,
Knees letting go,
Thighs letting go,
Pelvis relaxing,
Buttocks relaxed,
Stomach relaxing,
Letting go of all the tension in your body.
Lower back relaxing,
Full back relaxing,
Chest relaxing,
Shoulders relaxed,
Arms letting go,
Letting go of all the tension.
Again,
Feel those shoulders releasing,
Neck relaxed,
Throat and neck letting go,
Letting go of all the tension in your throat and neck here.
Now moving on to the arms,
Arms relaxing,
Hands relax like never before,
Face relaxing,
Cheeks letting go,
Dropping your jaw,
Letting all of that go.
Smoothing out the forehead,
Smoothing out that whole face and throat and neck area,
Letting everything relax like never before.
Moving on to the head,
Head relaxing,
Brain relaxing,
Full body relaxing and letting go.
Imagine a beautiful healing white light entering your body from above your head and imagine this light flowing into every limb,
Organ and cell from your head to your neck,
To your face,
Throat again relaxing,
Neck relaxing,
Shoulders relaxing,
Face relaxing.
Imagine that light healing every part of your body from your head to your toes.
What a lovely feeling it is to imagine that healing radiant light flowing into every cell of your body,
Helping to regenerate and cleanse and heal you.
And now is the perfect time to say some affirmations here,
Some positive affirmations that will make you feel empowered and strong.
Things like I am healthy,
I am strong,
I trust in my body's ability to heal and to be strong and healthy like never before.
I am healthy,
I am well,
All is healing beautifully.
Each day brings me closer to good health and I trust my body to restore its natural resonance.
And now acknowledge your body's ability to heal and to know that it is not only possible,
But it is so.
Be grateful for there is some part of this journey that you can even be grateful for.
Practicing gratitude will help with some of the pain and frustration while you are healing.
If your mind wanders,
Just gently guide your focus back to the breath.
Breathing in good health,
Breathing out pain,
Breathing in wellness,
Breathing out stress,
Breathing in calm,
Breathing out anxiety,
Breathing in light,
Breathing out darkness,
Breathing in healing,
And breathing out anything that is getting in the way of your healing journey.
Remind yourself,
I am well,
I am happy,
I am healthy,
I am healthy,
I am healing,
I am filled with loving-kindness.
Whenever you're ready,
Gently come back to the space.
Open your eyes,
Wiggle your fingers and toes,
Stretch,
Yawn here,
Smile,
Stretch your arms,
And thank yourself for doing this practice.
