Welcome to this meditation which allows space for you to come to a deeper stillness,
A deeper peace and a deeper rest.
By becoming aware of your body from this awareness and place of peace there will be time to connect more deeply with your being and how it is woven intricately with the being of the Beloved,
The Divine God Spirit.
So as we begin I invite you to come to a comfortable place,
Whether that's sitting or lying on the ground.
Spend a few moments becoming comfortable and settling in to your space.
And once you're settled,
Welcome stillness.
Let your shoulders relax,
Let your body sink.
Gradually become aware of the quiet.
You may notice some sounds in the room or outside.
Slowly let your attention come from that external world.
Moving inwards.
Becoming aware of your body in this moment,
In this place.
Notice where your body is connected to the ground,
To the chair,
To the floor.
Feel every place where that connection is present and notice how it feels.
Notice where your body feels heavy.
Notice where it feels tense and where you may be clenching.
And if it seems possible,
Release in those places and let go.
Be aware of your breath,
The gentle inhale and exhale.
If your feet are on the floor,
Be aware of the connection between the floor and the soles of your feet.
That sense of being rooted and grounded.
And slowly and gently let your awareness travel from your feet,
Through the lower legs.
Noticing your muscles,
Your bones,
The strength of those legs.
Be aware of your knees and slowly let your awareness travel up through the upper legs.
Noticing those big muscles that work so hard,
That are powerful and strong.
Be aware of your hips and the connection between them and your torso.
And slowly bring your attention to your torso,
The pelvis,
The base of the spine.
Slowly bringing your attention up through the body,
Through your digestive tract.
Moving step by step through the spine.
Aware of where the ribs extend out and wrap around the body encompassing the lungs and the heart.
Providing a place of safety.
Notice any sensations you feel in your stomach.
Notice the movement of air in and out of the lungs.
Be aware that your heart is beating steadily,
Sustained,
Bringing life.
Become aware of your upper back,
The shoulders,
Your chest,
Your throat,
Your neck.
Notice where this may be tense or tight.
Observing any places where you're clenching and where you need to receive the grace to let go.
From your chest,
Moving across the shoulders.
Letting your attention travel down each arm to the fingers and the thumbs.
Moving back up,
Back across the shoulders into the neck.
Up to the head.
Feel the weight of your head,
The skull that protects.
Coming across into the forehead and the face.
Let the eyes drop and be heavy.
Let the cheeks relax.
Letting everything go.
Letting everything come to rest.
Let yourself simply be here,
Exactly as you are.
That in this moment nothing is required,
Expected or demanded.
But you simply are you in the fullness of your being,
Interwoven with the love and the glory of the spirit.
In this moment you simply are the fullness of yourself.
Fully seen,
Fully known,
Completely accepted.
In this moment let yourself be just as you are.
And in the stillness simply being aware of anything that surfaces.
Any emotions,
Sensations.
Letting them come,
Welcoming them to bring their gift.
Let yourself be seen.
Let yourself be known in every part of your being.
Knowing that you are seen only with love,
Compassion and kindness.
You are loved so deeply.
Your life is held.
Who you are is enough.
Welcome what you need in this moment.
Open to receive healing,
Restoration,
Change.
I leave you with these words from Julian of Norwich that I return to time and again.
So simple,
But so true.
All shall be well.
And all shall be well.
And all manner of things shall be well.
Continue to rest in this place of simply being you.
Being held and loved.
Surrender and yield to the truth that you are accepted completely.
Held in compassion.
And all manner of things shall be well.
And all manner of things shall be well.
