You can enjoy this meditation in any way that you'd like.
If you're starting it from bed,
I do recommend that you roll over and sit up.
But that's simply so you don't fall back asleep.
Of course,
That's just my recommendation.
You can meditate in any way that works best for you,
Your body,
And the space that you're in.
Wherever you find yourself,
Though,
Just take a nice deep breath.
Fill all the way up through your chest and your belly.
Hold at the top.
And then exhale,
Release.
And just slowly go ahead and close your eyes.
And just use this first moment to mentally set aside anything that's coming up.
Chances are,
Your mind is bubbling with things that you have to do today.
A conversation you're still stressed about from yesterday,
And all kinds of things like this.
And the truth is,
We should be grateful for the mind.
It helps us so much by doing this.
But there's a time and a place for it.
And that time is not now.
And that place is not here.
So just set those things aside as they come up.
One thing that can help with this is to relax the body.
So I'll guide you through relaxing each part of your body.
Starting with the muscles of the face.
Just letting them soften.
You don't need to smile or put on an act for anyone right now.
So allow yourself to give in.
And as you do,
You can release the jaw.
Relax the shoulders.
The chest.
And the back.
Just letting everything soften.
Releasing the hips.
The thighs.
The calves.
The feet.
And lastly,
The arms.
And the hands.
Simply let go of everything.
We so often spend time in a state of stress.
Anxious about things in the future.
Or ruminating on things from the past.
But the truth is,
The future is uncertain.
So whatever you're worried about in the future may not even happen.
And whatever you're ruminating on from the past can't be changed.
Where we live is in the here and now.
And in this moment,
You are comfortable.
You are safe.
You are relaxed.
Whatever's been stressing you out.
Whatever caused you to come here and seek this meditation.
Acknowledge it.
It's not for this moment.
This moment is for you.
You deserve to be relaxed.
You have worked hard enough in this life.
And you continue to every day.
You are worthy of feeling comfortable in your skin.
And in your life.
Comfortable in the way that you live.
In the way that you think.
And in who you are.
So allow yourself in this moment to stop trying so hard to be something else.
Because when you let go of everything that everyone else wants you to be.
Thinks you should be.
Expects you to be.
You will find relaxation.
You will be comfortable in your skin.
Life will come more easily.
Success.
Happiness.
Fulfillment.
Everything you seek.
Will come more easily.
When you simply let go of everything else.
And relax.
Into the true you.
The one that's here.
Now.
Living in this moment.
Safe and sound.
And no matter what you have to do today.
Whatever comes up.
Whatever surprises you.
Whatever causes a problem.
Or leads to an obstacle.
You have all of the skills.
All of the knowledge.
All of the resources.
To overcome it.
And you can do so.
In this state of calm.
And relaxation.
Now.
Take a few more deep breaths.
And slowly begin to bring yourself back.
Say to yourself.
Either out loud or in your mind.
It doesn't matter.
I am calm.
I am relaxed.
I am confident.
That I can create.
A beautiful day.
Now slowly begin to bring some life back to your body.
Wiggling your fingers and toes.
Or just moving around in whatever way you'd like.
Notice whatever is supporting your body.
And take one last nice deep breath.
Fill all the way up.
Deepest breath you've taken yet.
Hold.
And then exhale.
Release.
And as you do.
Gently open your eyes.
Gather yourself.
And come out of that.
