May we never lose our wonder.

When we pause and think of the magnificent God we serve,

Sometimes we can get into the routine,

We can get used to who he is.

But when we pause and think of the magnificent God he is,

You can truly see the vastness of his ability,

The vastness of his presence,

And that he knows each and every one of us by name,

That he's able to meet our needs,

The fact that we are one of billions and he has created us individually,

Uniquely his,

Is so beautiful.

So may we never lose our wonder of the magnificent God he is as we move throughout our day.

Settle into a place of stillness,

Finding ease,

Finding a place of comfort to just pause and experience his presence today.

Bring awareness to your breath.

Without trying to change anything,

Just notice it.

Observe the depth.

Observe the length.

Just simply notice.

And now begin to bring a little more intention and awareness to the breath as you lengthen your inhalations to maybe a count of four and lengthen your exhalations to a count of five.

So breathing in for 1,

2,

3,

4.

Exhale 1,

2,

3,

4,

5.

Inhale 1,

2,

3,

4.

Exhale 1,

2,

3,

4,

5.

And continue at your own count.

Creating more space for his presence in the stillness that you've created.

Psalm chapter 8 verses 3 and 4 says,

When I consider your heavens,

The work of your fingers,

The moon and the stars which you have set in place,

What is mankind that you are mindful of them?

When I consider your heavens,

The work of your fingers,

The moon and the stars which you have set in place,

What is mankind that you are mindful of them?

Take a moment to think about that scripture.

The fact that God created the galaxy above us that's so vast and expansive.

That as you allow yourself to zoom out,

Just visualize you sitting in this space,

Whether you are in your room,

Your car,

Wherever you are.

Think about zooming out.

So notice your house or the building you're in.

Notice your city that you're in.

Zoom out to the state.

Zoom out to the country.

Zoom out to the world,

The earth.

Zoom out to the galaxy that we belong in.

We are so small,

So little in all of his creation.

Think about the vastness of who he is and what he has created.

And yet,

Who am I,

Who are you that he is mindful of us?

May we never lose our wonder.

Psalm 139.

14 says,

I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made.

Your works are wonderful.

I know that full well.

I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made.

Your works are wonderful.

I know that full well.

So think about that today,

Friend.

That we are so small in this universe that he has created,

And yet we are fearfully and wonderfully made,

Each individually made unique by our creator.

So maybe give a moment of gratitude for him in that today.

Lord,

May we never lose our wonder,

That childlike wonder.

Let us never forget your power.

Let us never forget how magnificent you are as our creator.

That as we move through our day,

That as we move through our trials and conflict and anxieties and stress of our everyday lives,

That maybe we can look at it through a lens of how small it is in the grand scheme of things,

Of how small our issues are and how big you are,

That we can learn to surrender to you,

That we can learn to let go of our own wants and desires because you are ultimately in control.

That,

Lord,

You have created this world.

You have created each of us individually.

May we never lose our wonder of just how big and magnificent and powerful you truly are,

Lord.

Thank you for the space to carve out in your presence.

Thank you for being mindful of us.

Thank you for creating us just as we are,

Unique individuals made in your image.

Help us to remember that and the fact that you love us.

So allow us to serve you in a greater way.

Allow us to share our light with others,

To impact other lives,

To bring them closer to you.

In Jesus' name I pray.

Amen.

And let's close our practice with one final cleansing breath.

Breathing in deeply,

Exhale fully,

And gently opening your eyes.

And feel free to return to this practice any time you need a moment to realize how small we are,

How small our problems are,

And how great God is.

Thanks,

Friend.
