Welcome,
In this meditation we'll use the image of a river to help you let go of distractions and return to focus.
So for the next 10 minutes,
You'll rest in clarity carried by the flow.
So take a slow inhale through your nose and a soft exhale through your mouth.
And again,
A steady breath in and a full breath out.
And with every cycle,
Feel your body loosening and your mind softening.
And now,
Imagine yourself sitting beside a wide,
Gentle river.
The water glistens in the light,
Moving slowly but steadily.
The air is fresh and calm,
And you can hear the sound of water flowing over stones.
This river is your mind,
It's flowing,
Alive and always moving.
And as you watch,
You notice small leaves drifting on the surface.
Each leaf carries a thought,
Some are light,
Reminders,
Plans,
Or even ideas.
And then some are heavy,
Worries,
Regrets,
And even distractions.
So notice them as they float by,
And you don't have to reach for them,
And you don't have to push them away.
Just let them pass downstream.
And now,
Take a breath in,
And as you exhale,
See a leaf appear,
Carrying your latest distraction downstream.
So watch it drift,
And follow it until it disappears around a bend.
And notice how simple it is to release.
So another breath in,
And another leaf appears.
Maybe it's a memory,
Maybe something unfinished.
So just see it,
Acknowledge it,
And then let it go,
Downstream,
Always moving away.
A river doesn't stop flowing,
Just as your mind doesn't stop creating thoughts.
But you're not leaves,
You're the one sitting calmly on the bank,
Just observing.
You are the witness,
The thoughts are simply visitors passing by.
So rest in this space now,
For the next few breaths simply watch.
Thoughts arrive,
And thoughts drift,
The river carries them away without effort.
And do that now,
Willist I'm quiet for a moment.
And now,
Now bring awareness to your breath again.
Notice how inhaling feels like drawing in clarity,
And exhaling feels like sending distractions downstream.
And with each breath,
You feel lighter,
Clearer,
And more focused.
So sit in this stillness for a few moments.
There's no need to force anything,
Just breathing,
And just witnessing.
Willist I'm quiet for a moment.
And now when you're ready,
Take one deep inhale,
And imagine breathing in the river's clarity.
And as you exhale,
Imagine releasing the last traces of distraction.
The river has carried them all away now.
And slowly bring your awareness back to the room around you.
Wiggle your fingers and toes now,
Roll your shoulders a bit.
And just return to the body.
So carry with you this clarity,
This focus,
Into the rest of your day.
And when you're ready now,
Gently open your eyes.
Welcome back,
And namaste.
