This poem by Rumi speaks of longing as a force that shapes inner transformation. By meeting the ache without running, we can come to see deeper truths that can bring clarity and peace. Mawlana Jalaluddin Mohammad Balkhi, popularly known as "Rumi", is a 13th-century Sufi poet. Today, he is recognised as one of the greatest poets who ever lived, due in part to how his words seem to speak to the Divine. Photo by Javarhd. Translation by Coleman Barks.

Transcript

Longing is the core of mystery.

Longing itself brings the cure.

The only rule is,

Suffer the pain.

Your desire must be disciplined,

And what you want to happen in time,

Sacrificed.

Unknowingly you are serving me up guttural truths in perfect timing for me to receive them. Thanks for your commitment to digging this well deeper and deeper.
