This is a beginner-friendly daily morning meditation that helps you set the trajectory for your day ahead. It starts by bringing awareness to the breath, thinking of 3 things that you are grateful for, then shifts to focusing on the trait or quality that you want to channel today. The practice ends with chanting OM 3 times. It is recommended to listen to this meditation every day for at least 30 days. This track is inspired by Amy Ruthie's teacher trainer, davidji, and by Ranjith Vallathol. Music: A Pure Embrace by Christopher Lloyd Clarke. Provided by Enlightened Audio Image by Joe from Pixabay

Good morning,

This is Amy Ruthie,

And this is a morning meditation to help you start a new day.

Get as comfortable as you can.

You can continue lying in your bed or sit upright,

Whatever is most comfortable for you right now,

And just settle in and relax your body down.

Bring your awareness to your breath,

And notice as you inhale through your nose how your belly expands as you inhale,

And watch it as it falls back down as you exhale.

Inhale,

Belly expands,

And exhale,

The belly falls back towards the spine.

You can place your palm on your belly here as you watch the belly rise and fall as you breathe.

A few more cycles like that on your own,

Keeping your awareness on your belly.

Gentle breathing,

And now bringing your attention to three things that you are grateful for.

Things or people that you are grateful for.

Bringing those things to your mind's eye.

Next,

Taking three deep breaths in a moment.

On the first breath,

Bringing back to your mind the first thing or person that you're grateful for.

Inhaling love into your heart,

And exhale that love to that thing or person.

Now the second thing or person,

Inhaling love into your heart,

And exhaling that love to that second thing or person.

And the third deep breath,

Thinking of that third thing that came to mind.

Inhaling love into your heart,

And exhaling that love to that third thing or person.

Now I invite you to think about when you are at your best.

When you are flowing through life,

Feeling good,

Spreading love,

How would you describe yourself in that moment,

Maybe loving,

Peaceful,

Joyful,

Caring,

Patient,

Just think of how you would describe yourself when you're in the flow,

In the moment,

And at your best.

I'll give you some time here.

And now think of your day ahead,

And which of those traits or characteristics do you want to bring with you today?

Maybe it's courage,

Or patience,

Or calm,

And now create a positive statement in the present tense with that word.

For example,

I am calm,

Or I am patient,

Or I am compassionate.

And repeating that to yourself silently three times.

Now imagine yourself flowing through your day,

And channeling that energy into each part of your day.

Just walk through your day in your mind,

What you have coming up,

Maybe meetings,

Work,

Play,

And how that energy is going to show up in those different situations throughout your day.

Imagine going through your day feeling calm,

Feeling patient,

Loving,

Whatever your word is today,

Just imagine.

And now releasing that,

And again repeating that positive statement silently to yourself three times.

And as you do that,

Try to really feel that in your body,

Try to embody it.

Deep breaths here as you repeat it three more times to yourself,

And as you move on after the meditation this morning,

I hope that you will find yourself moving through the world with that energy that you're needing today.

We'll close out this morning meditation with three ohms,

And you can whisper sing,

You can sing out loud along with me,

Or you can silently sing along.

All options are fine.

Inhale for the first of three ohms.

Oh Oh Oh Thank you so much for practicing with me this morning,

And I hope that you'll return to this meditation every morning to help you get a fresh start on each new day.

Namaste
