Meeting your future self,
Creating a clear vision for your life.
A guided meditation with Angelica Janic.
In this type of meditation,
I will guide you through specific visualization or mental exercises along with asking questions for you to ponder and self-reflect on.
Let's first ensure that you have a quiet space.
You could be sitting on the floor,
In a chair,
Or comfortably on the couch.
Ensure that your cell phone is turned to silent and you will be left undisturbed for 15 to 20 minutes.
When you are settled,
Taking this time to close the eyes,
Allowing the palms to rest wherever they feel comfortable.
Acknowledging the happenings of your day.
If there's any disturbances or discomfort,
Acknowledge them and do your best on letting it go.
Committing yourself to this meditation and to these questions.
Allow the eyelids to be heavy.
Bring your awareness around your breath.
And letting your body and mind come to a deep state of stillness,
Relaxation,
And a sense of surrendering.
Witnessing the rise and fall of the breath.
Whenever that mind wanders,
Practice on bringing yourself back to the subtleties of the inhale and the slow releasing out-breaths.
Start to imagine yourself in the future.
You can choose any point in the future that you would like to visualize.
This can be next week,
A year from now,
Five or even ten to twenty years.
Remembering that any time you come back to this meditation,
It will be different and what you visualize for the future may change.
Picturing yourself in this future scenario as if you are watching a movie of your own life.
Imagine the details of your surroundings.
Where are you exactly?
What is it that you are doing?
Who is with you in this visualization?
Maybe it's somebody that you know or someone you have not met just yet.
Taking some time to observe and explore this future version of yourself.
What is your mood like?
How do you carry yourself?
What are your thoughts centered around?
And the emotions that come with these thoughts and ideas.
As you continue to maintain the situation,
Start to focus on the positive aspects of this future imagined scenario.
What are some of the things you are most proud of?
What accomplishments have you achieved?
What is it that you feel about yourself and your life?
Allow yourself to feel a sense of joy and gratitude for all of the positive things that you have accomplished in this future scenario.
Allowing this positive feeling to resonate your entire body from the tip of the head down toward your toes.
Feeling your aura become brighter,
More clear.
As you bask in this positive energy,
Start to set intentions for your future from where you are now.
What kind of goals would you have to make?
As you work backwards,
What do you want to achieve?
Which milestones do you need to reach first to attain your long-term future plans?
Imagining the steps you'd need to take to make these goals a reality.
Whether it's one goal,
Or it's multifaceted,
Including your health,
The relationships,
Your career,
And perhaps something else more personal.
Visualize yourself taking these steps with confidence and ease.
Seeing yourself accomplishing every goal one by one.
Feeling a sense of pride that comes with each level of success.
As you continue to breathe deeply and visualize your future,
Allow yourself to feel a sense of peace and contentment.
The power to make your dreams a reality.
Remembering that the future is always unfolding,
And you have the power to shape your own destiny.
By visualizing your ideal future self,
You are taking the first steps toward making that future a reality.
Taking five deep,
Full body breaths in through the nose,
Out of the nose.
Taking some time to reflect on your future visualization.
What did you learn about yourself and your goals today?
What steps can you take in the present to move closer to your desired future?
Taking a few more deep breaths in this pondering,
And slowly start to bring awareness back to the present moment.
Feeling how you're sitting,
Perhaps lying down in space.
How does your body and your breath feel?
To start to wiggle your fingers and toes.
Lengthen your spine as you breathe a little deeper now into your belly and the chest.
Gently opening the eyes,
Allowing the light to come back into your sight.
Gratitude.
Patience.
Three more mindful breaths to close your practice today.
