Hi,
Frankie here.
Welcome beautiful souls to this inner child meditation,
Dyslexia,
From disadvantaged to advantaged.
This inner child meditation is part of a powerful series designed to help you reconnect and heal your inner child,
And one of many that I personally relate to.
Dyslexia definitely held me back in a few subjects at school,
Ultimately causing me to leave school at the age of 16,
Which has turned out to be a beautiful blessing.
Each meditation in this series focuses on different aspects of inner child work,
From healing emotional wounds and rediscovering joy,
To offering forgiveness and reclaiming your inner strength.
By nurturing your inner child,
You create a foundation of self-love,
Confidence and emotional freedom.
If or when any emotions come up,
Let them flow,
Hug yourself,
Hug your inner child,
And of course,
You can also push pause and come back tomorrow to be with you.
Take a moment to settle in now,
Know that this is a safe space for you to heal and grow.
Let's begin.
Take a deep breath in and exhale slowly,
Again inhale through your nose and gently release through your mouth.
Let yourself begin to arrive here,
In stillness,
In safety.
Allow your body to relax,
Allow your breath to settle.
This meditation is for the inner child who grew up with dyslexia,
The one who was bright but misunderstood,
The one who felt left behind,
The one who knew they were trying but kept being told they weren't good enough,
The one who was asked to sit still when their imagination was racing,
The one who was made to feel wrong in a system that didn't understand their brilliance.
Today you return to that child,
Not to make them fit in,
But to show them they were always loved and they were always enough.
Their way of thinking is not a flaw,
But a powerful gift.
Let your body soften,
Feel your face relax,
Drop your shoulders,
Open your chest,
Let your belly rise and fall with ease.
Now bring your awareness to your heart centre,
Visualise a gentle glow here,
Perhaps golden or turquoise or any colour that feels like you,
This glow is the light of creativity,
Wisdom and intuition,
This is the light of your unique mind,
The one that doesn't follow the rules because it was designed to rewrite them.
With each inhale allow that light to grow stronger,
With each exhale let it expand through your body,
Let it move down to your arms,
Into your hands,
Down to your legs,
Into your feet.
You are now surrounded by a cocoon of radiant safety and self-worth,
Now gently invite your inner child to step into this space,
See them clearly,
At an age when school began to feel hard,
Maybe they're staring at a page full of letters that won't sit still,
Or sitting quietly while others raise their hands,
Or they're holding back the tears after being told they just need to try harder.
Notice how they appear,
Notice what they're holding,
A book,
A red marked paper,
A tightly clenched hand,
Notice the look in their eyes,
Approach them slowly,
Sit down beside them,
Let your energy say you're not alone anymore.
I see you,
I remember how confusing it was to feel so capable inside yet to feel like you were always falling behind,
You were trying so hard and no one noticed,
Let their body begin to relax,
Let them feel your presence,
Let them breathe,
Now ask softly what did you believe about yourself back then,
What did the world tell you that still echoes inside?
Maybe they say I am not smart,
I'll never get it right,
Something must be wrong with me,
Whatever that voice says,
Let it rise,
Let it be spoken,
Let it be witnessed without shame.
Place one hand on your heart and offer your other hand to your inner child,
Let them take it if they're ready,
Say to them I'm so sorry you were made to feel less than,
You were never broken,
You were never behind,
You just learnt in a different way,
And that way is brilliant,
Now take a moment to breathe together,
Let the light of your heart extend to them and their heart to you,
Let it wrap around them like a warm blanket,
Now bring them into a space where they can explore and create freely,
Bring them to a room filled with movement,
Colours,
Music,
Stories and invention,
A world where their mind can play,
Not just perform,
A place where no one is grading them,
Measuring them or comparing them,
Let them feel what it's like to thrive in their natural intelligence,
And from that space offer them these affirmations,
One by one like stepping stones towards their truth,
My brain works in powerful unique ways,
I am not defined by my struggles,
I am defined by my strength,
Dyslexia is part of my brilliance,
I don't have to be like everyone else to succeed,
My inner child is deeply intelligent,
My inner child is deeply creative,
My inner child is deeply enough,
Now bring your inner child in close,
Hold them tightly,
Let their body rest in your arms,
Say softly,
You no longer have to try to keep up,
You were never meant to follow someone else's path,
You were meant to create your own,
I believe in you and I will never let anyone dim your light again,
Let them cry if they need to,
Let them smile,
Let them be seen,
Now begin to imagine their energy glowing,
Filled with colour,
Motion and light,
See that glow return to your heart,
Take a long slow breath in and gently release,
Feel the confidence building inside you,
Feel the creative fire that never left,
Feel the peace of knowing that you don't have to prove your worth to anyone anymore,
You are not broken,
You are not behind,
You are not alone,
Begin to wiggle your fingers and toes,
Feeling into your body,
Feeling the energy within,
Bringing your awareness back into the present moment,
You are brilliant,
You are bright,
You are brave,
And your inner child is still here,
Still within,
Still dreaming,
Still gifted,
Still wildly beautiful and whole,
As you come back now,
I invite you to give yourself a hug,
Whisper to yourself,
I love you,
I love me,
Blessings to you dear soul on your journey,
I'm so honoured to have you join this class today,
This one was deeply personal,
I wish you blessings on your journey here on planet earth,
Namaste.
