The marble of your body,
If you haven't already,
Finding your quiet space where you can sit or lay down.
Closing your eyes and taking a moment to simply be.
Take in a nice deep breath and slowly let it out as you prepare to embark on this journey of gratitude for your body.
In this meditation,
Allow yourself to be fully present in your body.
Tuning in to the rhythm of your breath now.
Just watching your breath coming in and out of your body.
Did you know on average you breathe 22,
000 times a day.
Every inhalation brings life,
Giving oxygen into every cell in your body.
And every exhale expels the waste your body doesn't need.
It's a harmonious cycle of rejuvenation and cleansing.
Feel the rise and fall of your chest and your abdomen.
Take a moment to marvel at this automatic process that sustains life,
Sustains your life moment to moment.
Breathe in gratitude and breathe out love for your breath.
Shifting your attention now to your heart,
The tireless beating within you.
Your heart beats 100,
000 times a day,
Each day.
It pumps blood into every part of your body,
Supplying oxygen and nutrients to every cell in your body.
And at the same time,
Removing waste products.
In every beat,
Feel the rhythm of life.
In every beat,
Feel love for yourself.
With every beat,
Feel connection.
See your heart wrapped in a warm embrace of gratitude.
Let's take our focus into the body and breathe and feel into your whole body.
Feel and notice any sensations in your body.
We'll now do a scan of the various organs and their miracles.
First,
Bring your awareness to your liver.
Consider your liver,
Which performs over 500 functions,
Including detoxification and producing vital chemicals your body needs.
Bring gratitude and thanks to your liver.
Your kidneys,
Awareness to your kidneys that filter around 120 to 150 quarts or liters of blood daily to produce urine and remove all waste products and excess fluids from your body.
Bring gratitude and thanks to your kidneys.
Brain,
Your amazing brain,
Bring awareness to the marvel that your brain is.
This organ is the weight of a bowling ball with around 86 billion neurons working tirelessly,
Enabling thoughts,
Memories,
Movements,
Dreams,
And emotions.
That's right.
You have more neurons in your brain than the number of humans on planet earth.
Bring in gratitude and thanks for your brain.
Bringing your awareness to your neck.
Acknowledge the strength of your neck that holds your head,
Which is the weight of a bowling ball,
And it does it with ease.
Give thanks and gratitude to your neck.
Awareness now to your eyes,
Reflecting upon your eyes,
Capturing countless images daily,
Allowing you to perceive the beauty in the world.
Bring gratitude for your eyes,
All day seeing and looking,
Billions of images every day being captured by your eyes.
Give gratitude and thanks for your eyes.
Awareness to your skin,
Recognize your skin,
The largest organ protecting you,
Regulating temperature and allowing the sensations of touch.
Consider your skin as a protective shield with sensory receptors constantly interacting with the external environment,
Providing sensations,
Warmth and calm.
Bring gratitude to your skin.
Your whole body is covered,
Your beautiful skin.
Legs and feet marvel at your legs and feet,
Pillars of strength and mobility,
Bearing your weight and propelling you forward,
Grounding you to the earth.
Give thanks to your legs and feet,
Arms and hands,
Reflecting on your arms and hands,
Instruments of action and creativity,
Allowing you to touch,
Hold,
Create,
Express love and care.
Give gratitude to your arms and hands.
Awareness to your spine,
Contemplate your spine.
It's a central pillar providing structural support while housing and protecting the spinal cord within,
Ensuring the fluid movement and flexibility.
Give gratitude to your spine.
Ears,
Acknowledge your ears,
Not just as an instrument of hearing,
But your ears also give you balance.
They are the maintainer of balance in your body as you walk.
They translate vibrations into sound,
From gentle whispers to harmonious melodies,
To loud noises.
Give gratitude to your ears,
Mouth and nose.
Ponder the mouth and nose gateways of taste and smell.
They allow you to breathe,
They filter.
They allow you to savour the flavours of life by drawing in life-giving breath,
While also being instruments for communication and expressing our voice.
Give gratitude to your mouth and nose.
Whole body awareness now,
Whole body,
Give gratitude to your whole body,
To your whole being.
While our bodies function with precision and dedication,
It's also essential to reflect on how we can better take care of our body and all the parts of our body.
The parts we see on the outside and the more important parts that are on the inside.
Bring your awareness to nourishment.
Ask yourself if you are committed to fueling your body with balanced nutritional food,
Honouring your body as a sacred temple.
Set an intention now for just one thing you could give your body to increase its nutrition.
Hydration.
Remind yourself of the importance of drinking adequate water,
Keeping every cell hydrated and functional.
Can you commit to giving your body the water it needs?
Movement.
Your body loves to move.
Do you give your body enough time to move?
How can you engage in more regular physical activity?
It could be walking,
Yoga,
Gym,
Any exercise that invigorates and strengthens.
And you do this so your body can give back the vigour you desire.
What's one physical activity you could commit to,
To give your body what it needs?
Rest.
Recognising the healing power of sleep and relaxation.
Can you promise your body the rest it deserves?
Mindfulness practices.
Let your body embrace meditation,
Deep breathing or any other practice that foster harmony between the body and mind,
Cultivating mindness,
Reducing stress in the body and ensuring mental well-being for the brain,
Further enhancing your body,
Mind,
Spirit,
Health.
The magical body-mind connection.
The miracle of you isn't just these organs and body parts.
The body and mind are inseparable.
Embrace the connection between the body and the mind.
Every emotion you feel has a corresponding reaction in the body.
Joy might make your heart race.
Stress might strain your gut.
Revel in the intricate feedback loop of emotions and physical sensations in your body.
Get to know your body better and understand what your body is telling you.
Mindful moments.
The power of the mind to heal,
Soothe and transform the body is profound.
By being present,
You allow the mind to harmonise with the body,
Optimising health and well-being.
Thoughts and reality.
The beliefs and narratives held in the mind shape our physical reality.
An uplifting thought can boost immunity,
While persistent negativity can manifest as a physical ailment.
Recognise this power.
Choose thoughts that nourish both the body and the mind.
I ask you now to reflect on how you can honour your body,
The miracle of your body more.
Nourishment.
Is there something you could adopt to balance your diet,
Offering more nutrients the body requires?
Hydrate.
Are you willing to regularly drink water,
Ensuring that every cell remains vital?
Breathe.
Are you willing to engage in activities that keep both your body and mind agile and strong?
Rest.
Can you prioritise sleep,
Relaxation,
Meditation,
Letting the body rejuvenate?
Breathe love and appreciation into your total being.
Breathing in and out,
Love and appreciation to your body,
Mind and soul.
I invite you now to whisper to yourself,
I love you,
I thank you.
Say it again a little louder,
I love you and I thank you.
Give yourself a hug.
When you're ready,
You can open your eyes and carry this heightened awareness and appreciation for your body and give your body a commitment that you will look after it more and more each day.
You'll be more mindful of your body,
Holding on to the profound sense of wonder for the miracles within and the promise you've given for nurturing your body more and more every day.
And you can come back to this meditation to bring in more and more gratitude each time you do the meditation and each time becoming more and more aware of your body's needs and the miracle that you're living in while on planet earth.
Namaste.
