Welcome to the streets of your heart.
Let yourself get comfortable in your position for this meditation.
Closing down your eyes and taking a slow deep breath in,
And as you exhale let your body soften into stillness.
Another deep inhale filling the lungs,
Expanding the heart space,
And a long slow exhale releasing all tension,
Releasing the day.
Allow your awareness to rest gently in your chest,
At the very centre of your being.
That's right,
Your heart space.
Imagine your heart is a beautiful city,
With pathways,
Lanes and streets winding in all directions.
These are the streets of your heart,
Where your memories live,
Where your joys and sorrows travel,
Where your emotions move like quiet travellers.
Now see a river beginning to flow through these streets,
A river of pure cleansing water.
This river carries your emotions,
Your sadness,
Your joy,
Your longings,
Your gratitude,
All flowing together,
Weaving through the streets of your heart.
Breathe in gently,
Feel the river moving,
Breathe out slowly,
Feel the release.
Allow yourself to trust this river,
There is nothing you need to hold back,
Every emotion is welcome here,
Every feeling has a place in this current.
Whisper softly to yourself,
A river of emotions flows through the streets of my heart.
With each inhale,
Imagine the waters filling the streets,
With each exhale,
Imagine currents carrying away what no longer serves you.
See the river winding through every corner of your heart,
Gathering old hurts,
Unspoken words,
Heavy burdens.
The river gathers them with kindness,
And carries them away.
Follow the river now,
As it flows beyond your heart,
Flowing outward and onward,
Until it reaches the wide open sea,
This is the sea of your soul,
Vast,
Infinite,
Spacious,
Here all emotions are received,
All burdens are dissolved,
All waters return to peace.
Now place one or both hands gently over your heart,
Feel the steady beat,
The rhythm of life within you,
Say quietly to yourself,
In me is the strength of my heart,
In me is the river of release,
In me is the sea of my soul.
Rest here in silence for a few breaths,
Letting the heart feel light,
Letting the heart feel open,
Letting your soul be free.
As we bring this meditation to a close,
Trust that the river will always flow,
That the streets of your heart are alive and moving,
And that you can return to this flow whenever you need to release,
Whenever you need peace.
So take one final deep breath in,
And a long gentle breath out,
Whisper to yourself,
A river of emotions flows through the streets of my heart,
I release into the sea of my soul,
And when you're ready,
Gently open your eyes,
Carry this lightness and this flow into your day.
