Hey friend,

Hey,

Congratulations,

I'm so excited that you're going to be welcoming your bundle of joy very shortly.

Find a comfortable position for your body,

Either sitting,

Lying down,

Or in a position that feels right for you,

Especially during labor.

Close your eyes if that feels comfortable.

Take a few deep,

Slow breaths and let your body begin to relax with each exhale.

Feel the breath flowing in and out,

Grounding you in the present moment.

As you breathe,

Remind yourself that you are strong,

You are capable,

And you are supported in this moment.

You are safe.

Now,

Gently bring your focus to your breath,

Feeling each inhalation filling you with calm and each exhalation releasing any tension or discomfort.

As the breath flows in,

Imagine it bringing a sense of peace to your body and as the breath flows out,

Release any fear or tension.

With each breath,

Know that you are deeply supported in this sacred journey and you are not alone.

Now begin silently repeating these words to yourself.

With each repetition,

Bring your full attention to the meaning behind them,

Offering yourself love and compassion.

May I be safe.

May I be peaceful.

May I be strong.

May I live with ease.

Let these words gently wrap around your body and mind.

Imagine them filling you with warmth and strength,

Soothing your heart and mind with every breath.

Feel your body soften into the rhythm of your breath.

Know that you have everything you need within you to bring your baby into this world.

You are doing exactly what you are meant to be doing.

Now,

Bring your awareness to your baby.

Picture your baby in your mind,

Your connection to them deep and loving.

Offer the same wishes of love and peace to your baby,

Knowing that they are with you every step of the way.

May you be safe.

May you be peaceful.

May you be strong.

May you live with ease.

Send these words with love,

Knowing that your baby feels your love and support.

Envision your baby surrounded by a bright,

Peaceful light,

Wrapped in the warmth of your love and safety of this moment.

May all mothers be safe.

May all mothers be peaceful.

May all mothers be strong.

May all mothers live with ease.

Feel your connection to this universal sisterhood of mothers,

Drawing strength from the shared experience of motherhood and the power that comes from love.

Now,

Bring your focus back to yourself,

Back to your breath,

Back to the deep love you have for your baby and the strength within you.

Repeat the words of Metta just for you.

May I be safe.
