Emotions are energy in motion. All feelings and emotions have a purpose, they are here to give you information. Although sometimes it can be hard to sit with challenging emotions and you may want to push them aside or ignore them. The problem is, if they can't flow through our body as they are meant to, we have to carry them around much longer than needed. This meditation is designed to help you sit with your feelings and ultimately let them go.

Welcome to this meditation to help you tune in with your emotions,

Allow them to be there and let them go.

Let's begin this practice by finding a comfortable place to sit or lay down.

You may like to have your hands resting by your side or resting on the knees.

And let's begin by just tuning into the sounds around us today and knowing that no matter what kind of day it's been for you so far,

This is your opportunity just to be,

To be still,

To tune inwards,

To become present.

We can do that by just tuning into the sounds around us.

It helps us to quieten the mind and hear what's really happening in the present moment.

Just seeing how many different sounds you can hear and then bring that awareness of sound closer to you.

So you can just hear the whisper of your breath as it comes and goes.

From here I invite you to tune into whatever feeling or emotion that may be sitting with you.

If you can feel it in your body,

You might even like to place a hand there,

Maybe it's a hand on the chest or a hand on the belly.

And just knowing that all emotions are okay.

They are all here to give us information,

They are energy in motion,

But sometimes if we can't allow them to be and process them,

They can be pushed down and become bigger,

Heavier.

So here just sitting with whatever is present for you today,

Whether it's sadness,

Guilt,

Frustration,

Or even joy,

Just feeling that,

What does it feel like in the body?

And you may like to just breathe in and out of wherever you're feeling that energy,

That emotion.

Maybe if it's sadness in the heart,

It's just bringing that breath to that heart space,

Bringing that light of awareness.

And sometimes it can be hard to label our feelings,

To even know what it is,

But once we can put a name to it,

It can help us process it,

Name it to tame it.

So sometimes it's just noticing,

I feel overwhelmed,

And just allowing that to be,

Knowing that no matter how you're feeling in this moment,

It too will pass.

Emotions can be like waves in the ocean.

Sometimes they're a gentle ripple,

Other times it might be a huge wave crashing down on us.

Just knowing that they are all here to give us information,

It's our body's way of speaking to us.

So let's just take another minute or so here,

Just to really embrace our feelings,

Embrace our emotions as much as we can.

And sometimes if it's too painful to hold,

It's okay just to hold it lightly.

And just knowing that this is a practice,

It's a practice of becoming more comfortable with the range of emotions that we feel.

And the more that we can tune in with our breath,

Breathe into any discomfort,

It just helps that energy to move through us and flow.

Sometimes how we process emotions might be through a tear,

It might be a sigh.

We all have different ways of processing emotions.

And from here,

Just taking the last few breaths,

We might even say something like,

Thank you feeling goodbye.

We can just allow it to flow,

Or maybe even putting it in a little box beside us and we can choose to come back to it later if we're not quite ready to just yet.

Just knowing that we don't always have to carry it around with us.

We can take the load off.

Just imagine a little box next to you,

You can place that big feeling or emotion there.

And perhaps after this practice,

It will come to you how to release it.

Maybe it's through walking in nature or running or writing in your journal.

And please just take a moment here to thank yourself for making this time in your day to tune in with your emotions.

Emotions are with us every day for the rest of our life.

And the more that we can embrace them and welcome them and learn to understand what they're trying to share with us,

We'll be able to process them with more ease and allow them to flow and let them go when you're ready.

When you're ready,

Just wriggle the fingers,

Wriggle the toes,

Opening the eyes and maybe just seeing things slightly differently.

Looking outside if you can,

Looking up at the sky,

Just shifting our perspective.

Taking any movements or stretches if you need to.

And thank you for being here.

Thank you for taking this time and I'll see you again soon.
