Welcome.
I invite you to find a comfortable position.
And if it feels right,
Close your eyes.
Maybe you want to put your hand on your chest and start connecting with your breath.
Maybe roll your shoulders.
And just settle into this space for a few minutes.
Begin to notice your breath.
The natural rhythm of air flowing in and out.
There's no need to change it.
Just observe.
Let's take a deep breath in together.
And slowly exhale.
In this season of Advent,
We are reminded of waiting.
Waiting for the hope and light of Christ to enter the world.
It's a time full of anticipation.
And it's also a time that can feel heavy with responsibilities and expectations.
Let these words from Psalm 46 verse 10 settle into your heart.
Be still and know that I am God.
What does it mean to be still in a season that asks so much of us?
We can pause and remember that it is God,
Not us,
Who holds all things together.
Take another slow and deep breath in.
And as you exhale,
Imagine releasing the tension,
The busyness,
The anxiety,
The fear,
The sadness or the grief that might be filling your mind or body.
Release that into the world.
And as you breathe in again,
Welcome a sense of God's presence into your body.
And let it refresh every corner.
Pay attention to what your body might be telling you.
What might need attention?
Even as the pace around you quickens,
God invites you to move at a different rhythm.
It's a rhythm of grace,
Of trust,
Of presence.
Advent is not just about creating perfect moments for others.
It's about waiting for Christ to meet you in sacred spaces,
In stillness,
In nature,
In the depth of your own heart.
As you continue to breathe,
Imagine the flickering light of an Advent calendle.
Its flame burns steady and strong,
Even in the midst of busyness.
Let that steady flame remind you of God's unchanging presence.
It's always with you,
And it's always enough.
Feel whatever part of your body may be connected to the earth.
And feel that support that Mother Earth always offers you.
Let that connection remind you that God sustains you,
Grounding you in love and grace.
You don't have to do anything more right now.
You don't have to plan,
Or prepare,
Or solve.
Just be here,
Fully present.
As we come to a close,
Hear these words from Isaiah 40,
Verse 31.
But those who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength.
They shall mount up with wings like eagles.
They shall run and not be weary.
They shall walk and not faint.
Trust that as you wait,
Just as you are,
That you are being renewed.
God is with you in the waiting.
Take another deep breath in,
And slowly exhale.
When you're ready,
Gently open your eyes.
And may this small pause remind you that even in this busy season,
God invites you to rest,
To wait,
And to simply be.
Go forward,
Grounded in that truth,
Carrying the peace of Christ with you.
