Hello,
Welcome to the Rebel Flock.
My name is Emma.
This is a moment to pause,
To return to yourself,
To drop into the simplicity of presence.
You don't have to go away on a retreat or sit cross-legged for hours to be mindful.
Some of the most powerful awareness practices are woven into the ordinary moments of life.
You might even be doing one right now,
Walking,
Sitting with a coffee,
Taking a break between tasks.
Wherever you are,
Whatever you are doing,
I invite you to just take a breath.
Just one,
In through the nose and out.
Feel the air,
The body.
That's it,
That is mindfulness.
It's not about doing something extra,
It's simply about noticing what's already there.
It might be the sound of your breath,
The weight of your body against the chair,
The sensation of your feet on the ground,
Or simply becoming really intentional about noticing the flavour of the coffee.
Or the tea that you're drinking.
The warmth of the mug,
Noticing the steam rising up out of the mug.
Every time you notice a moment like this,
You're building something.
You're growing self-awareness.
You're strengthening your ability to choose your response.
You're learning to live more on purpose and less on autopilot.
And from that place,
You begin to hear your values more clearly.
You become more resilient,
More curious.
And you're able to move through your day with much more intention.
So here's something to try.
Pick one everyday action,
Something you already do.
Brushing your teeth,
Boiling the kettle,
Walking to your car.
And just for a few seconds each time,
Really be in it fully.
No multitasking,
No judgement,
Just presence.
Observing.
Noticing all the different aspects of that activity.
These micro-moments are where the practice lives.
Because mindfulness isn't something you achieve.
It's simply something you return to again and again.
Thank you for taking this pause with me.
I hope you have a wonderful,
Mindful day.
