Hi there.
Today's meditation is a 10 to 15 minute meditation on pain in the body.
On acknowledging pain,
Seeing it for what it is,
And maybe even distancing yourself from the pain that you've been experiencing.
So I welcome you to go ahead and find a comfortable position.
I actually do recommend lying down for this meditation,
But find a position that makes sense for you.
Finding a straight spine,
Relaxed arms and shoulders,
Relaxed legs and feet,
Eyes closed or gaze softened.
Once you're there in this comfortable position,
I welcome you to notice where your body meets the ground.
Notice the sensations that arise,
Allowing yourself to be fully in tune with your body at this moment.
Notice any pains that you're experiencing right now.
Not the pains of times past,
But the pains of this exact moment.
Where are they in your body?
And on your next exhale,
I welcome you to imagine even just a tiny bit of that pain being released.
Released from your body out into the ether so it can join again with more vibrant healing energy.
Inhaling that vibrant healing energy to replace what was released with the exhale.
And then your next exhale,
See if just a little bit more pain can be released.
And if you struggle with visualization or anything to that effect,
That's okay.
Just see what it feels like to even try to imagine that.
A lot of times our preconceived thoughts or beliefs about the world can take place,
Take precedence in our mind,
And we have a hard time believing that we can release pain with an exhale or things of that sort.
In this moment,
Just see if you can believe it,
Regardless of what you've been told.
And on your next exhale,
Release another,
Even just thin layer of pain from your body.
Inhaling vibrant healing energy.
And then breathe normally.
Notice if any judgments arise,
Any thoughts,
Limiting beliefs that keep you stuck in this layer of pain.
And see if you can release those with the next exhale.
Allowing yourself to fully witness with unbiased opinion,
Your present experience.
And with your next inhale,
I invite you to sense into the idea,
Whether it's visualizing it,
Feeling it,
Or whatever comes up for you.
Sense into the idea that you are lifted separately away from the pain in your body.
You don't need to go far.
You just detach from it.
It can be a slow process,
Inhaling,
Lifting slowly,
Gently,
Detaching yourself from the pain that you experience.
And just see where you are.
Maybe you hover there.
Maybe you set yourself down beside the pain body.
Maybe you mirror yourself,
That pain body with a separate self.
Whatever comes to mind for you is exactly what's supposed to come to mind for you.
And if you struggle with that,
That's okay,
Too.
Allow yourself to continue to sense into that idea,
Separating yourself from the pain body.
And then allowing all judgments,
Limiting beliefs to stay off to the side.
See if there are any lessons or communications from that pain body that you can receive now that you're separate from it.
And whatever comes to mind is exactly what's supposed to.
Our bodies are our greatest communicator.
Yet we're with our bodies constantly to the point where we often unintentionally dismiss its communication.
So allowing yourself to be separate from that pain body,
To mirror it,
To lay beside it,
To hover over it,
Whatever you feel into right now,
That allows you to see it for what it is.
And what is it for you?
Maybe it's multiple things.
Feel into that.
And I will leave you for a few moments to allow whatever comes up to come out.
However,
Before I do so,
I do invite you,
As you are separate from this pain body,
I invite you to sense into a feeling of gratitude.
It might be hard.
And that's okay.
It might take time and that's okay.
But your body has protected you,
Has held you,
Has communicated with you since the moment you were born.
And it will do so until your last breath.
And that,
My friend,
Is something to be very grateful for.
It is a partnership you will always have.
It'll never leave your side.
So I invite you to feel into whatever speck of gratitude that you feel about your body.
And on your next inhale,
See if that gratitude can expand.
And on your exhale,
Release whatever judgments or limiting beliefs that are holding you back.
And fully listen to the communication of your body.
And I will welcome you back when it is time.
Notice where your mind went,
Those moments of quiet.
And allow yourself to wrap up anything that was coming to mind at that time that you need to finish up.
Then gently guide yourself back into the present space,
Present experience.
Maybe by wiggling your fingers or toes,
Allowing you to come back into that full partnership with your body.
Maybe taking a final big exhale out the mouth releasing whatever else is no longer serving you.
And inhaling that gratitude and love,
Appreciation for your body,
Wherever it is today,
Regardless of the pain that you may be experiencing.
Adding more gentle movements,
Maybe bringing your knees to your chest and rocking or whatever intuitively feels right.
Before going on with your day,
I welcome you to just say an affirmation to yourself about what you experience in your body.
My recommendation is only a recommendation,
You are welcome to say whatever.
But I do recommend saying something to the effect of I don't feel as much pain anymore.
I don't feel as much pain anymore.
Feel the power of those words or your affirmation in your body.
On your next inhale,
Imagine it expanding.
I don't feel as much pain anymore.
Exhale,
Release,
And then flutter your eyelids open.
And I wish you less pain,
More healing,
Love,
And gratitude,
My friend.
Much love to you.
Have a great rest of your day.
