Welcome!
This guided meditation for Thanksgiving gratitude is brought to you by Indigo Alchemy.
I'm Mary Ann and I'll be your guide.
This meditation will help you connect with gratitude for what money can't buy,
For the challenges we encounter,
The people who matter,
And all of the joy,
Big and small.
Let's begin.
Take a moment to settle in,
Whether you're seated on a cushion,
In your favorite chair,
Or perhaps lying down wrapped in a soft blanket.
Let your body arrive before your mind tries to catch up.
If you're comfortable doing so,
You may close your eyes or lower your eyes to a soft gaze at an object nearby.
Take a moment to settle into stillness.
Allow your body to relax.
Take in a slow,
Deep breath,
And a long,
Unhurried breath out.
Again,
Take in a deep breath,
Filling your body with presence,
And a full breath out,
Emptying any tension or tightness you may have brought with you.
Let your shoulders soften.
Let your jaw unclench,
And let your belly rise and fall with ease.
Thanksgiving is a season of gratitude.
Today,
We're not forcing gratitude,
But we're remembering it.
We're giving ourselves the gift of pausing long enough to notice the abundance that has always been here.
Let your breath be your anchor.
Steady.
Gentle.
Caring.
First,
We'll offer gratitude for what money can't buy.
As you breathe naturally,
Bring to mind the things in your life that have no price tag,
Those experiences that remain untouched by material things.
The warmth of someone saying your name with love.
The feeling of sunlight through the window on a cold morning.
A moment of inward peace after a storm.
Or perhaps it's a laugh that surprised you.
And maybe it's a sense of being held by something bigger than yourself.
Let one of these moments rise to the surface.
See it clearly.
Feel it fully.
Notice how your body responds.
Perhaps a softening in your chest,
A gentle warmth that washes over you,
Or a slow easing in your breath.
These are the treasures we carry with us.
These are life's true riches,
The ones not stored in bank accounts,
But in your heart.
Let yourself savor this feeling.
Let it expand within you.
And let it remind you that abundance is often quiet,
Simple,
And profoundly human.
Next,
We will offer gratitude for challenges.
Gently shift your awareness to the challenges you've endured this year.
Not to reopen wounds,
But to honor the strength it took to move through them.
Call to mind one challenge,
Large or small,
That shaped you.
Something that stretched you,
Or asked something of you,
Or revealed something in you.
As you hold it in your awareness,
Imagine placing both hands on your heart,
Physically or energetically,
And breathe into that space.
This gratitude is not about pretending the challenge was easy.
It's about acknowledging the resilience you unearthed,
The growth that surprised you,
The courage that emerged quietly in you,
And in the moments when no one was watching.
Silently say to yourself,
Thank you for what this has taught me.
Thank you for who I have become.
Feel that strength in your body.
Feel the steadiness in your breath.
You survived.
You may have thrived.
You adapted.
And you grew in ways you may not have realized until now.
Let that realization settle into your bones.
Next,
We'll offer gratitude for someone who matters.
Bring to mind someone who has touched your life in a meaningful way.
Someone you're grateful for,
Not because they're so perfect,
But because they matter to you.
It could be a partner,
A child,
A parent.
It may be a friend who walked in just when you needed them most.
A mentor,
A neighbor,
A colleague.
Someone who simply makes life a little brighter.
Picture them standing before you.
See all the details.
Their smile.
Their kindness.
The way their presence changes the energy of a room.
Let a warm wave of gratitude move through you as you silently offer this.
Thank you for being in my life.
Thank you for your love,
Your presence,
Your influence.
Let yourself feel the fullness of that connection.
And now,
Widen the circle.
Invite in others you're grateful for.
The people who have shaped your path,
Supported your growth.
Challenge you to become truer,
Kinder,
Braver.
Hold this whole circle of people around you in your awareness like a glowing constellation.
You are not alone.
You have never been alone.
Let that truth wrap around you like a soft blanket.
Next,
We will offer gratitude for joy.
All things big and small.
Turn your attention to joy.
Not the big sweeping kind,
Though that counts too.
But the everyday joys that often go unnoticed.
A warm mug in your hands.
The smell of something baking.
An unexpected message from someone you love.
A comfortable silence.
A moment of clarity.
Or a belly laugh you didn't see coming.
Let one small joy float to the surface.
Hold it gently.
And let it light something inside of you.
Notice how joy doesn't always arrive with fanfare.
Sometimes it arrives as a whisper.
Let yourself receive it.
Let it brighten your insides.
Let it remind you that joy is not something we chase.
It's something we allow.
Now bring your attention back to your breath.
Feel the rise and the fall.
The gentle rhythm of being alive.
Let all the gratitude you've touched for life's immeasurable gifts,
For the challenges that shaped you,
For the people who matter,
And for the joy woven through your days gather softly in your heart.
Imagine your heart glowing with warmth like a candle lit on a quiet night.
And as you breathe,
Let this glow expand through your body up to the crown of your head,
Down through your shoulders,
Your arms,
Your belly,
And legs,
All the way to the soles of your feet.
You are full.
You are supported.
You are held.
And when you're ready,
Place a hand on your heart and whisper inwardly,
Thank you.
Thank you for all of it.
Thank you for all of me.
Take a final deep breath in and a long,
Slow exhale out.
Gently wring your fingers and toes.
Roll your shoulders.
Roll your arms.
And when you feel ready,
Open your eyes or lift your gaze and carry this gratitude forward into your day.
Let it ripple outward to those you love,
Those you meet,
And most importantly,
To yourself.
Happy Thanksgiving and Namaste.
