Hello,

This is Jennifer Ellis.

Welcome to this self-reconnection meditation.

Often when we're on the go and doing for others,

We can forget about ourselves.

In this meditation,

We will take some time to reconnect with ourselves.

This time is so important.

When you're ready to begin,

I invite you to get into a super comfortable position,

One where you feel like this is you time.

And then when you're ready to begin with me,

And you're all nice and cozy,

Please close your eyes and we'll begin.

Just breathe naturally as you start to delve into our meditation.

Your breath is natural depth and pace.

And I'm going to give you a moment of silence where I just invite you to notice how you're feeling today without judgment.

So even if you find that you're in a state that's not feeling so connected and positive right now,

That's okay.

Just assess and notice and feel compassion for yourself no matter where you're at.

Often when we find we need time to reset and rest and reconnect with ourselves is because we're overextending.

So I'm going to invite you to reflect where in your life do you feel like you might be overextending yourself?

And are there ways you might be able to find some support to be in greater balance?

And no worries if you don't find any answers to these questions right now,

Just the energy you're putting out to assess them may bring answers later.

And sometimes the more you do this meditation,

The easier it is to find those answers.

Our society is often tempted to do,

Be,

And have more.

And it can cause us to spiral into an overstimulated and overdoing energy cycle.

And that's where this meditation comes in,

To support you in realigning and rebalancing as much as you need.

Know that it's empowering to say no.

And when you just need to care for yourself,

You're empowered to make positive choices for yourself.

Just breathe and reflect and notice what temptations there might be that are creating stress and overwhelm for you in your life.

Maybe the temptation is that need to be liked,

So you're always saying yes,

Or feel obligated,

Or you want to be liked,

Whatever it is,

There's no judgment.

And sometimes just noticing can support you in reassessing and balancing that.

So another moment to reflect.

Continuing our journey of self-reconnection,

Let's take time to listen to our body now,

The physical body.

In the next moment of meditative silence,

Ask your body what it needs,

And really tune into your body and ask it what it needs.

You might word it like,

What do you need for me to feel more energetic,

More happy,

Rested,

Whatever it is.

Your body will provide answers if you listen to it.

It talks to us all the time,

Sometimes we're just not listening to it.

And the more you meditate on this and other meditations,

You'll find it easier and easier to listen to your body,

The more present you are with it.

So let's take this next moment of silence and ask our bodies what it needs.

Again,

Really tune in.

And no worries if nothing has come to you as you talk to your body and try to listen to it.

It will come.

Just continue to practice listening to your body.

Cherish and protect your well-being.

No one else but you can do that.

Nurture yourself.

Protect your time,

Protect your energy.

This is actually for the highest good of all.

So before we get into some gentle breath work here in our meditation,

I invite you to once more tune into your body,

Listen to your body,

Connect so deeply with yourself,

And ask yourself what it needs in this present time and space.

And then we're going to just do a little bit of breath work to further connect with ourselves.

We're going to inhale for a count of four through the nose.

We're going to hold that inhale for a count of four.

We're going to exhale for a count of four through the nose and hold for a count of four that exhale.

This is called box breathing.

We will do four rounds of this four count together.

Inhaling through the nose for four,

Holding for four,

Exhaling through the nose for four,

And holding that exhale for four.

Inhale for four,

Hold for four,

Exhale through the nose,

And hold.

Inhale,

Hold,

Exhale.

Inhaling through the nose,

Holding for four,

Inhale,

Exhale.

Bringing your breath back to its natural pace,

Depth,

Rhythm,

And noticing how you feel in your mind and body.

And now we're going to just do a quick run through your entire body.

As we do so,

I invite you to really focus on connecting to each part that I name,

Which is this complete self reconnection to really round out this meditation beautifully.

So let's start at the crown of the head.

Connect there.

Connect with your brain.

Connect with your third eye,

That sixth chakra.

Connect with your facial muscles,

The eyes,

The nose,

The jaw,

The cheeks.

Connecting with your ears,

That ear.

Connecting with the back of your head and neck.

Connecting with the throat,

Your voice box,

Where you speak your mind.

Communicate with your friends,

Family,

Colleagues.

Connecting with your heart chakra.

Really tune into your heart.

Feel your heart beating.

Self reconnection happens right here in the heart.

Feel it.

And then tuning in with your stomach,

Your whole spine,

Which carries you throughout the days.

Connecting with your arms,

Wrists,

Fingertips.

Connecting with your hips,

Your legs that carry you throughout the days.

Those oh so important feet that ground us.

Feel connected from head to toe.

Let's take one more round of box breathing.

Inhaling for four,

Holding your inhale for four,

Exhaling for four,

And holding for four.

And when you're ready to return from our meditation,

Let's do so very slowly in order to take with us out back into our day,

This energy reset,

This self reconnection that will not only benefit us,

But everyone we encounter.

Reawakening your five senses and bringing some gentle movement to your body.

Notice how you feel as you return to present time and physical space.

Slowly opening your eyes.

This meditation is available to you any time you need to reconnect with yourself.

I thank you so much for joining me on this journey of self reconnection,

And I wish you a wonderful rest of the day.

Thank you.
