Welcome,
I'm Jocelyn.
This track is meant to be a morning companion.
A way to wake up,
To feel into the presence of your body,
To clear any energy from the night before,
From your dream state,
And to really prepare for the day ahead.
So wherever you are in your routine,
Just for a minute,
Close your eyes,
Whether you're standing or sitting or laying down.
Take a nice deep breath in through your nose.
Hold it for a second.
Open your mouth and sigh it out.
Good morning.
Taking another deep breath,
But this time just feeling the flow of air in and out of your body.
Inhaling through your nose.
Holding it just for a second.
Opening your mouth and sighing it out.
And take a moment to simply move your fingers in whatever way they want to move.
They might want to wiggle.
They might want to stretch.
They might want to twist and turn.
Allow that movement to move into your wrists,
Allowing your wrists to move slow or fast.
You might want to give it a little shake,
Like a Qigong shake.
Allow that energy to move into the elbows.
So now you're moving your hands,
Your fingers,
Your wrists,
And your elbows in whatever way they want to move.
Let it move into your shoulders.
Really,
For a moment,
Just take your shoulders and roll them around from front,
Up,
Back,
And down.
You might even want to breathe while you roll your shoulders.
Inhaling front,
Up,
And exhaling back and down,
Making the space in your joints.
Going back to allowing your shoulders to just move in whatever way they want to move.
You might find a repetitive action.
You might just want to shake them.
You may even want to take your hands with loose fists and just give them a little tap,
A little wake-up call.
And then just bringing your attention to your head and just allow your head to gently move atop your shoulders.
You might want to move your head in circular movements or a yes or a no.
And while you're moving your head,
Just start to allow your mouth to stretch wide and then stretch really tiny and scrunched up and then stretch wide while you're moving your head.
Allow your eyes to open wide and shut tight.
Open wide and shut tight.
You may even want to take your fingers and gently massage the lobes of your ears.
You may even want to give your scalp a little bit of a massage.
Good morning,
Scalp,
Right?
And then allowing your body to come to a little bit of a stillness,
Breathing once or twice into the spine.
So you're inhaling and you're feeling the air move all the way down the back of the spine.
And as you exhale,
You can feel that movement of air all the way back up the spine.
The curves,
The edges,
The undulations of the spine with the oxygen as you inhale and exhale.
You might want to allow your spine to move or exaggerate the motions that are happening naturally with your breath.
Or maybe you just want to shake your spine out a bit.
There's no right or wrong here.
You might want to even touch your toes if that's something you like to do and roll up the whole spine.
Or just waking up and begin to bring your attention and awareness to your hips.
How do your hips want to move?
Maybe you're tired.
You're still just waking up.
Allow your hips to gently roll.
Or maybe you're sitting there and you're just rolling back and forth on your hips and your glutes.
Or maybe you've been up for a while and you're just getting ready to go out and you let your hips shake a little,
Dance a little,
Allowing that movement and that energy to move down to the knees.
So the knees and the hips are moving,
Aware of each other like a dance partner.
And then allowing the ankles to join in,
The ankles to join in,
And the feet to join in.
And then just take a full body shake.
It can be a gentle shake.
It can be a cleansing shake.
And standing or sitting with your feet on the ground,
Become aware of the soles of your feet.
Where your feet touch the ground,
Where there's spaces.
With your eyes closed,
Bring your awareness to your big toes.
And your second toes.
Third toes.
Fourth toes.
And fifth toes.
Inhaling through the nose.
Opening your mouth and sighing out with a little sound.
Feel the vibration of that sound in your chest,
Your nasal cavities.
Inhaling through your nose.
Opening your mouth and sighing out with sound.
We're just going to take one more cleansing breath.
You might even imagine that you're inhaling it from deep within the earth.
Cool,
Cleansing breath coming up through the nose.
The bottoms of your feet.
All the way up your legs,
Thighs,
Spine.
Down your arms.
Up your neck.
All the way up to that third eye and crown chakra.
Allowing that inhalation to stir anything that's left from the night.
Anything that's left from the week.
Stir it up.
And on the exhale,
Opening your mouth.
Sighing it all the way out and letting it go down through your feet.
And put it over your heart.
Create a connection with your soul.
And if that sounds like too much at this time in the morning,
Then simply feel the temperature of your skin at your heart space.
Feel the landscape of your body here at your heart space.
Know that this is a new day.
You have arrived.
You are present.
And you are ready for this day,
My friends.
Good morning.
