The following meditation is to set a baseline for beginners.
Sit in a comfortable place and begin by breathing a little slower and a little deeper than usual.
And establish a relation with the way you're paying attention.
If you have thoughts coming in your way,
Just open the door and observe the thoughts.
Self-observation.
Without any judgement,
Without analyzing,
Without evaluating.
With curiosity,
Just observe your thoughts and then gently let them go and refocus your attention.
Attention is a powerful tool.
Moment to moment in silence.
If you get distracted,
It's okay,
It's part of the process.
Gently return your attention and once again just observe,
Become the observer.
Don't forget to breathe a little slower and a little deeper than usual.
Using your belly.
Should you hear any noises in the background,
It's okay to just let them go and refocus.
Pay attention to sensations.
Bodily sensations,
You might feel uncomfortable,
But overcome yourself and don't judge.
To emotions that might come,
Just observe them in neutrality.
And again,
Should you have thoughts,
Without evaluating them,
Just let them go.
When you hear the bell again,
At the end of the sound,
You may open your eyes.
So gently start breathing your way out.
And now gently you may open your eyes.
