Hello and welcome.

Thank you for giving yourself this time to pause,

To breathe and to connect.

Find a position that feels comfortable either seated with a tall relaxed spine or lying down in a way that fully supports you.

Gently close your eyes if you feel safe to do so.

Take a slow deep breath in and a long unhurried breath out.

Again a full nourishing inhale and a soft complete exhale.

Allow your body to begin letting go.

Feel the weight of the day melting away,

Your shoulders dropping,

Your jaw unclenching,

Your hands resting loosely.

Feel gravity holding you.

There is nothing you need to do right now but simply be here.

Allow your awareness to settle on the gentle rhythm of your breath.

Breathing in,

Receiving life.

Breathing out,

Giving life.

Notice this simple natural exchange.

The breath itself is a perfect teacher of reciprocity.

Inhale,

Accept.

Exhale,

Offer.

Let yourself relax into this rhythm for a few moments.

Now let's take a moment to gently scan through the body.

Bring your awareness to the top of your head.

Allow any tension there to soften and drift away.

Bring this gentle attention down to your face,

Relaxing your forehead,

Your eyes,

Your cheeks.

Soften your jaw.

Relax the back of your neck.

Let your shoulders sink.

Feel them releasing any burden.

Bring this wave of relaxation down through your arms,

Your hands,

Your fingers.

Let your chest be open yet soft.

Notice the gentle rise and fall of your breath.

Feel your belly soften.

Allow your lower back to release any tightness.

Relax your hips.

Feel this softness flowing down your thighs,

Your knees,

Your calves,

All the way to your ankles,

Your feet and finally your toes.

Your entire body resting in ease,

Supported,

Present.

Now that you've arrived fully in this moment,

Let's begin a gentle journey inward exploring the beautiful essential flow of giving and receiving.

A practice of sacred reciprocity.

A remembering of our place in the great circle of life.

Begin by bringing awareness to the center of your chest.

Imagine a warm golden light glowing there.

Radiant,

Gentle,

Alive.

This light is the essence of your capacity to give.

With every inhale,

See it grow brighter,

More vibrant.

With every exhale,

Feel it radiate outward.

Imagine offering this light freely like a sun that shines without asking anything in return.

Let it spill out to those you love,

To those who need kindness.

Even to strangers,

See their faces soften,

Their hearts lift.

Feel the warmth in your own chest expand as you give.

Giving is not depletion.

Giving is a flow,

An opening,

A joy.

We make a living by what we get but we make a life by what we give.

Reflect on those words.

Breathe them in.

Notice how it feels in your heart to imagine giving freely.

Notice any joy,

Any resistance,

Any longing.

There is no right or wrong,

Just awareness.

I give freely.

Let these words echo in your mind.

I am open to sharing my light.

I happily share of my gifts.

Now,

As naturally as the tide turns,

Let's shift our focus.

Imagine that same warm light you sent outward returning to you.

Flowing back with gratitude,

With love,

With abundance.

Let it pour into your heart.

Many of us find it easier to give than to receive but receiving is its own skill,

An art of openness,

Trust and humility.

As you inhale,

Allow yourself to accept this light.

Feel it enter your heart,

Your body,

Your whole being.

Notice any places that tense up or resist.

Breathe into them,

Let them soften.

Say to yourself gently,

I allow myself to receive.

I receive with gratitude and grace.

I am worthy to receive.

Imagine someone offering you kindness,

A heartfelt compliment,

A helping hand,

Love.

See yourself accepting it fully,

Sincerely,

Without deflection or embarrassment.

Receiving honors the giver.

Receiving itself can be a gift because it allows the giver to give.

Repeat silently,

Thank you,

I receive.

Now bring your awareness to the natural flow of giving and receiving as a single sacred cycle.

In the Andes there is the concept of Aini,

Sacred reciprocity.

Aini teaches that life is a web of exchange always seeking balance.

Nothing is truly one way.

When you give you create space to receive.

When you receive you become capable of giving more.

Imagine now that golden light flowing in a perfect circle out from your heart to the world and back in filling you up.

A continuous living exchange,

A sacred rhythm.

See this cycle extending beyond people to the earth itself.

You breathe out carbon dioxide,

The trees breathe it in,

They offer oxygen in return.

You give your attention and the world gives you beauty.

You offer care and life offers meaning.

Let yourself feel part of this living web,

A participant in this sacred reciprocity.

Affirm quietly,

I am part of the great cycle of giving and receiving.

Now bring awareness to any places inside you where this flow feels blocked or stuck.

Perhaps old fears about giving too much or reluctance to accept help.

Breathe into these places,

Imagine the warm light gently melting them,

Releasing them,

Allowing the energy to flow freely once more.

Picture those blockages dissolving like ice in the Sun,

Trickling away,

Leaving clarity and openness behind.

Say softly to yourself,

I release what no longer serves,

I open to the natural flow of life.

Reflect now on the mindset of collaboration over competition,

A commitment to creating win-win situations.

See yourself engaging with the world as a partner rather than an adversary.

Silently affirm I choose connection over competition,

I seek mutual benefit,

I trust in abundance.

Feel how this mindset changes the energy in your body,

In your heart,

In your breath.

Finally return to the simple rhythm of breathing.

Breathing in,

Receiving life.

Breathing out,

Giving life.

There is no effort here,

Just the natural dance of the universe.

Let yourself rest in this awareness.

Receiving,

Giving,

Effortless,

Balanced.

As we begin to close this meditation bring your hands gently to your heart.

Offer thanks to yourself for taking this time.

Offer thanks for the wisdom of balance.

Thanks for the chance to remember your place in the great web of life.

Feel gratitude filling you.

Know that you can return to this practice anytime.

Slowly begin to deepen your breath.

Invite gentle movement into your fingers and toes,

Perhaps rolling your shoulders or stretching in any way that feels good.

Become aware of the room around you.

Feel the ground supporting you.

If your eyes are closed,

Softly open them when you feel ready.

As you return to your day carry this sense of flow with you.

Consider one small way you might give of yourself today and one way you might allow yourself to receive.

Remember,

We make a living by what we get but we make a life by what we give.

May you walk in balance.

May you honor the sacred flow of giving and receiving in all you do.
