In this short practice, you remind your body that it’s safe. With gentle, alternating movements - a variation of the "Butterfly Hug" - you activate both hemispheres of the brain and help your nervous system calm on a physical level. A simple yet powerful way to reconnect with yourself and find a sense of safety and warmth within.

Hi,

This is Melina and I'm so glad you're here.

Take a moment to get comfortable,

Either sitting down or lying down.

And if it feels safe for you,

You can also gently close your eyes,

Just to arrive a little more inside yourself.

Very well,

Now take a soft breath in through your nose and exhale through your mouth,

Maybe even with a sigh.

Now,

Cross your arms over your chest,

Place your right hand on your left upper arm and your left hand on your right upper arm,

In a way that feels easy and natural,

Kind of like you would be holding yourself,

Embracing yourself.

Now,

Feel the warmth of your hands spreading gently across your arms.

Maybe even stroke them slowly up and down,

Noticing how your body begins to relax,

How a quiet sense of safety spreads through you.

You can let your head lower a little,

As if your whole being is held and supported.

While running around in the world,

We often forget that we carry a place of warmth and safety within us,

Wherever we go.

This simple practice reminds you of the home that never left you,

The steady,

Patient wisdom of your own body,

Always trying to care for you,

No matter what.

Thank you for giving yourself this moment and remember,

You can always return to it,

To the warmth,

Safety and belonging that lives inside of you.
