Today, we will talk about the Heroine's Journey, the feminine counterpart to the Hero’s Journey. The Hero’s Journey and the Heroine’s Journey are two narrative archetypes that describe different paths of personal growth and transformation. They present fundamental differences, especially in terms of goals and challenges. The Hero’s Journey represents the evolution and maturation of masculine energy, while the Heroine’s Journey reflects the evolution and maturation of feminine energy. Masculine and feminine energies are not exclusively tied to biological gender but instead represent two complementary and opposite polarities in every individual, regardless of sex. In many spiritual and philosophical traditions—such as Yin and Yang in Chinese philosophy or the distinction between Shiva and Shakti in Hindu tradition—these energies embody different qualities that work together to create balance and harmony. Let's briefly explore their energetic and spiritual differences.

Hello beautiful soul!

Welcome!

This track,

It's a track that connects with the course about our menstrual cycle.

So if you have taken that course,

This track is a continuation of that course and specifically we will be talking about the heroine's journey which is the feminine answer to the hero's journey.

Why are we talking about this?

It's because if you have taken the course about the menstrual cycle you know that the society and the world has been focused in the male version of reality for quite a long time.

Everything has been rotating around men and their role in society and how they develop and grow and affirm themselves in the world with less interest and less respect for how women navigate the world and how their role is different.

And for many years female has been forced to act and be like men in order to be successful in society.

The hero's journey and the heroine's journey are two narrative archetypes that describe different paths of personal growth and transformation.

They present fundamental differences especially in terms of goals and challenges.

The hero's journey represents the evolution and the maturation of the masculine energy while the heroine's journey reflects the evolution and maturation of feminine energy.

Masculine and feminine energies as we know are not exclusively tied to biological gender but instead represent two complementary and opposite polarities in every individual regardless of the sex.

In many spiritual and philosophical tradition such as yin and yang in Chinese philosophy or the distinction between Shiva and Shakti in Hindu tradition,

These energies embody different qualities that work together to create balance and harmony within each person.

Let's briefly explore the energetic and spiritual differences of masculine and feminine energy.

The masculine energy is often associated with active,

Directive and logical qualities,

Symbolically is linked to the sun,

Dynamic and rational,

And it has specific main characteristics,

For example action and direction.

Masculine energy connects to outward movement,

Initiative and the ability to lead and conquer.

It expresses itself through doing,

Planning and achieving goals.

It is also logic and rationality.

It favours structured and analytical thinking oriented towards problem solving.

Protection and strength.

This energy manifests in protecting others,

Setting clear boundaries and demonstrating physical or emotional stability and strength.

It focuses on the individual because masculine energy represents individual power,

Independence,

Personal assertion and self-sufficiency.

Spiritually masculine energy is often associated with ascension,

Transcendence and conquering the material world through willpower.

The feminine energy instead is connected to the moon,

Intuition and receptivity.

It is expressed more through being than doing,

Promoting empathy,

Connection and psychos.

The key characteristics are receptivity and nurturing.

Femininity is associated with the ability to receive and nurture,

Both emotionally and physically.

It's the energy of care,

Inner protection and generosity.

Intuition and sensitivity.

Feminine energy prioritises listening,

Empathy,

Emotional connection,

Relying on deep intuitive and understanding rather than logical analysis.

Cyclicality and transformation.

Unlike the masculine which tends to move in a very linear way,

Feminine energy follows cycles,

It's fluid,

It's changing,

It's linked to the rhythms of nature such as the cycles of the moon and the seasons.

Interconnection and collaboration.

Feminine energy focuses on collective,

On community and unity rather than individuality.

Valuing cooperation,

Harmony and the integration of different elements.

Spiritually feminine energy is connected to introspection,

The inner world and emotional healing.

It is seen as the force that embraces and transforms and heals.

The balance between these two energies is essential for the well-being and our spiritual growth.

Modern culture often over-emphasises masculine energy.

This society value masculine energy more than feminine energy,

So action,

Control,

Conquer,

Showing off,

Reaching goals,

Achieving.

This can lead to imbalance because every person,

Every person,

No matter of the gender,

Of the biological gender,

They have masculine and feminine energy and if there is a nexus in masculine energy it manifests as stress,

Burnout or disconnection from one's emotional and intuitive side.

On the other hand,

An excess of a feminine energy without masculine can result in a lack of boundaries,

Indecision,

Passivity,

Stagnation.

So ultimately balancing masculine and feminine energies allows for harmony between action and reflection,

Will and acceptance,

Strength and compassion.

This balance is often considered the key to a fulfilling life and a deep connection with oneself and the universe.

So when we speak about the hero's journey,

It's a universal type of narrative structure that involves a protagonist,

Which is the hero,

Who starts from an ordinary state and faces a series of trials and finally returns transformed,

Recognized and fulfilled.

This story illustrates basically the evolution and the maturation of masculine energy.

The stages are the call to the adventure in which the hero is called to leave the ordinary world.

Trials and challenges the hero face.

Enemies overcome obstacles and receive help from mentors.

Reward and return.

Finally,

The hero gains special knowledge or power and returns to a normal life changed.

The hero's journey is traditionally associated with an external path of conquest and discovery,

Often through physical conflicts or adventures.

The heroine's journey,

In contrast,

Is more an introspective journey,

Characterized by a reconciliation between the inner and outer worlds,

With an emphasis on healing and integrating polarities such as masculine and feminine powers.

There are seven stages to the heroine's journey and we will see them in depth in the next track that will be called part two,

But I will just highlight a few steps of the heroine's journey,

Which is the separation from the feminine,

Is when our heroine often starts by trying to conform to the patriarchal values,

Rejecting aspects of herself tied to the feminine.

Then we have the reconnection with her inner life.

After a crisis or a failure,

The heroine dives into her psyche and faces emotional,

Spiritual conflicts and then she returns to wholeness.

The heroine reconciles her inner force,

Reclaiming her authenticity and finding a balance between an external and internal world.

In summary,

The hero's journey tends to focus on the external conquest and the heroine's journey concentrates on the exploration and integration of the self,

Emphasizing the importance of reconnecting with inner power and previously rejected aspects of her identity.

In a patriarchal society,

Many women and men have been pushed away from their feminine energy.

Many women in particular have been driven to emulate men or embody a very masculine energy based on doing,

Conquering,

Controlling,

Dominating,

Competing,

Achieving.

There are very deep reasons,

So if we need the creation of the heroine's journey because it was necessary to separate this journey from the hero's journey.

The feminine energy manifests on different and complementary dimensions compared to the masculine energy.

In the philosophy of the Tao,

They have been explaining this for a long time.

So,

The feminine journey is a deep personal discovery for a woman in which we find the way to seek one's own identity.

The heroine discovers who she truly is beyond the roles,

Beyond expectations,

Beyond societal beliefs and convictions.

We find resilience because the heroine discovers that she is capable of facing and overcoming adversity,

Showing determination and courage even in small matters.

She is open to change and personal growth,

Even if it means confronting challenges,

Fears and social failures.

Then,

We find empathy and connection because the feminine values empathy and connection.

The heroine values relationships and connection with others,

Including family,

Both natural and chosen,

Showing compassion and understanding.

Then,

In this journey,

We find our intuition and our inner wisdom.

The heroine is confident now in her abilities.

After the journey,

She develops a strong sense of intuition and often relies on this intuition to make decisions,

Helping others to do the same.

She connects with her wisdom.

She feels responsible for the community and seeks to contribute to the common good.

Then,

The heroine finds her authenticity.

She reaches a point in her journey where she understands the need for simplicity and the beauty of being authentic and true to herself,

Even in the face of external pressures.

And then,

The heroine comes to a point in her growth where she realizes that sacrificing herself for others doesn't always help them or herself.

She finds a healthy balance between giving and receiving in every circumstance.

She rejects sacrifice.

She metaphorically learns to lie down the sword,

Open herself to receive and wear the crown.

Then,

We have the recognition of the feminine power because the heroines celebrate and integrate the strength and the power of the feminine,

Recognizing the value of her own experience and emotion.

The feminine power is to attract,

Not to chase.

So,

The heroines find the balance between giving and receiving and doing and attracting.

The feminine has its own cycles and modes,

Different from the masculine,

But incorporating it nonetheless.

Because in order to recognize the feminine power,

We also have to make peace with the masculine power.

And as I was saying in the menstrual cycle course,

Women,

In every month,

We have two weeks in which we are in our masculine energy and two weeks that we are in our feminine energy.

So,

Part of this journey for women is to make peace with the masculine energy,

But integrating the feminine energy and understanding that we need to use both and we are both.

And we understand that those energy have some cycles and those cycles are very similar to Mother Nature's cycles each month and we,

As women,

Must follow and honor those cycles and those energies,

But we need to be able to embody both energy.

So,

I hope that this was interesting and in the next track we will be talking about the seven stages of our heroine's journey,

Which are the stages that every woman face in this life.

So,

In this life.

So,

I hope you enjoy.

Namaste.
