Storytelling has the power to connect us to ourselves, others & across time and space! Join us for this reading of the book "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz" by Frank L. Baum, which the publisher describes as "worldwide treasures, stories of hope that have woven themselves into our collective consciousness and left a lasting impression that continues with each new generation." Following each chapter reading, there will be an optional reflection on the various characters, phrases, and themes from that chapter by utilizing the 3E's (Experience/Embody/Envision). Grab the reflection tool of your choice (pen/paper, musical instrument, movement, anything really!) and let's begin.

Hey,

It's time to rise and shine.

I welcome you to this Read and Reflect session just the way you are.

My hope for you is that you may restfully enjoy this reading and or if you feel led,

I will also invite you to engage in the reflection practice that will take place after the reading.

Words face adversity like anything else in what they can communicate.

Still they are infinitely powerful.

Books,

Reading,

Writing,

And the art of storytelling,

When utilized and shared in a generous,

Bold way,

Become accessible tools that can pave the way for connection.

They can serve as salient modes of transportation for meaningful connections across time and space.

In short,

They are magical.

They hold potent potential and can be a bridge between our global community,

Loved ones,

And especially as a way to connect and bind us to our own beautiful selves.

You care to join us after the reading for the reflection portion,

I invite you to grab the reflection tool of your choice.

That could be a pen and paper,

An audio recording device,

Art supplies,

A musical instrument,

Or really any physical object that brings you comfort and calm.

Maybe it's just you.

Maybe you'd like to get cozy or get in a posture that feels good in your body.

Maybe it's just stillness,

An opportunity to practice listening.

It can be an opportunity to allow the story to take you where it wants to take you.

If you're anything like me,

Maybe you'd like to move with the story and allow it to become alive in you.

Remember,

You are welcome here just as you are.

In this space,

You are invited to fully experience yourself,

Which could include body sensations,

Memories,

Or sparks of insight.

Always remember to honor yourself and if it's too much,

Seek support,

But also know that you are more equipped to hold and heal than you may ever realize consciously.

If you aren't interested in the reflection piece,

That's okay too.

Just feel free to stop the recording after the reading.

Okay,

Let's begin.
