Let's close our eyes,
Take a few deep breaths together to settle in before we set our intention for the practice.
Breathe in and out,
Breathe in and out,
Breathe in and out.
In this meditation,
We'll be directing energy towards ourselves through a self-love practice.
If you've chosen to fill your cup with some self-care today,
Then you might be somebody who regularly feels energetically depleted,
Imbalanced,
Undervalued by those you care for,
Or even used for your generosity and big heart.
We're going to clear all of those narratives away and reset your vibration by going back to the most essential source of love,
Yourself.
To begin this practice,
Let's take some grounding deep breaths together.
I'll lead you through a few rounds of the 5-8 breathing pattern to establish a baseline upon which you'll revisit the foundation of your sense of self-love.
For this breathwork practice,
You'll inhale for a count of five.
Hold for two,
And exhale slowly for a count of eight.
Take one last deep breath in and out,
And then follow along with me.
Breathe in for five,
Four,
Three,
Two,
One,
Hold.
Exhale for eight,
Seven,
Six,
Five,
Four,
Three,
Two,
One.
Breathe in for five,
Four,
Three,
Two,
One,
Hold.
Exhale for eight,
Seven,
Six,
Five,
Four,
Three,
Two,
One.
Breathe in for five,
Four,
Three,
Two,
One,
Hold.
Exhale for eight,
Seven,
Six,
Five,
Four,
Three,
Two,
One.
Inhale for five,
Four,
Three,
Two,
One,
Hold.
Exhale for eight,
Seven,
Six,
Five,
Four,
Three,
Two,
One.
Wonderful job.
You may now return to your normal breathing pattern.
If you are able,
Please give yourself a hug.
Wrapping your arms however is most comfortable around your torso.
If you're seated upright,
Maybe you rest your hands on your shoulders.
If you're laying down,
Maybe you wrap your hands around your ribs.
Whatever feels right for you today.
Once you've settled in,
Try giving yourself a gentle squeeze to remind your body that you are here with intention,
Present in this moment.
Take a few deep breaths in this position now.
If you'd like to remain in this embrace for the entirety of the practice,
You may.
If that's not possible or comfortable for you,
Slowly release your hands to your heart,
Stomach,
Or lap.
You may do so now or at any point during this meditation.
Self-love may be defined as any practice of appreciating,
Honoring,
And embracing your authenticity unconditionally.
For an action to be unconditional,
It's expecting nothing in return.
Unconditional love is rooted in giving freely and openly.
When considering this concept of unconditional love,
Have you ever directed it towards yourself?
Have you understood that you deserve unconditional love in all forms from yourself and to yourself?
A cup of love and light overflowing so much that it spills out into the world,
Bringing joy,
Compassion,
Honesty,
Pure intentions,
And a desire for deep connection.
Nature is all about balance.
In order to give,
It's crucial to receive.
This duality,
Of course,
Can apply to giving to others and being open to receiving support,
Help,
Attention,
Quality time,
Wisdom,
Or any other type of gift in return.
Maybe you're a caretaker and nurturer.
That's beautiful and valuable and meaningful.
Thank you for all that you do for others.
It matters.
This duality of giving and receiving also takes place in the relationship we have with ourselves.
We need to be our own caretaker sometimes,
Our own nurturer,
Supporting ourselves with kind words,
Asking for help,
Tending to our needs and desires,
Taking quality time to get to know ourselves as we evolve over the years,
Figuring out our likes and dislikes and setting new boundaries,
Directing the wisdom we share with others inward and taking our own advice,
Treating ourselves with a favorite meal,
Night out on the town,
Adventure in the world,
Or cozy night in.
To restore balance in nature and within yourself,
You must remember that the love starts here,
Within you.
Let's do another round of breath work and this time incorporate some self-love mantras.
Take a few deep breaths in and out on your own and then we'll begin.
The first mantra we'll be using is I am enough.
When reaching the two second hold,
Silently repeat the mantra to yourself.
Let out any remaining air in your lungs and let's breathe in for 5,
4,
3,
2,
1.
I am enough.
Exhale for 8,
7,
6,
5,
4,
3,
2,

Inhale for 5,

3,
2,

I am enough.
Exhale for 8,

On this next breath we'll use the mantra I am proud of myself.
Inhale for 5,

I am proud of myself.
Exhale for 8,
7,
6,

The next mantra is I am worthy of love and respect.
Inhale for 5,

Exhale for 8,

I am worthy of love and respect.
Exhale for 8,

Our fourth mantra is I am loved.
Inhale for 5,

I am loved.
Exhale for 8,
7,
6,
5,

And our last mantra we will repeat for two breath cycles.
I love you.
Inhale for 5,
4,
3,
2,
1.
I love you.
Exhale for 8,
7,
6,
5,

Inhale for 5,

3,
2,
1.
I love you.
Exhale for 8,
7,
6,
5,
4,
3,
2,
1.
Continue this 5,
2,
8 breathing pattern on your own.
On the next round,
Give yourself a compliment.
Notice how it feels in your body to express love towards yourself.
Now try again with the same compliment or move on to an even bigger one.
One last time,
Repeat that compliment or emote even more.
Appreciate yourself.
Honor yourself and embrace your authenticity.
You are safe.
You are loved.
Finish this cycle and return to a normal breathing pattern.
I'd like you to visualize a small heart made of glass.
It's clear,
Shimmering,
And ready to be filled.
Imagine pouring a liquid.
Choose any color that makes you feel warm and supported.
Fill this heart-shaped vessel from bottom to top.
If you've already filled yours,
I want to challenge you to make it bigger or add a second or third heart to fill.
Keep pouring.
I am enough.
I am proud of myself.
I am worthy of love and respect.
I am loved.
I love myself.
I honor myself.
I value what I bring to the world.
I am a light for so many.
I am a light for myself.
Now that your single or dozens of hearts are filled to the brim,
Take a few deep breaths and admire what you've done.
Imagine the hearts moving toward you and entering your heart space at the center of your chest.
You are filling from toe to head with the self-love color of your choosing.
You're glowing and basking in your own rays of sunshine,
Adoration,
And respect.
Gently place your hands on your heart,
If not there already,
And silently repeat to yourself,
I love you.
You may now start to wiggle your fingers and toes,
Ankles and wrists,
And slowly open your eyes.
