Welcome to this meditation.

Life can feel overwhelming when we're faced with the unknown.

In this practice,

We'll explore the power of letting go,

Of releasing the need to control and finding peace in trusting the process.

Find a comfortable position,

Either seated or lying down.

Let your hands gently rest in your lap or by your sides,

And when you're ready softly close your eyes or lower your gaze.

Take a moment to arrive in this space.

Breathe in deeply through your nose,

And exhale fully through your mouth.

Let's begin.

Bring your attention to your breath.

Feel the coolness of the air as it enters your nose and the warmth as it flows out.

As you breathe notice the natural rhythm of your body.

How the breath flows in and out without effort.

You don't need to control it.

It happens naturally,

Supporting you in every moment.

With each inhale invite calm and clarity.

With each exhale let go of tension,

Worry or resistance.

Allow yourself to simply be here,

Breathing.

Now bring your awareness to your body.

Start at the top of your head and slowly scan downward.

Notice any areas of tightness or tension.

Breathe into these places,

Imagining the tension softening with each exhale.

Relax your forehead,

Your jaw,

Your shoulders.

Feel your chest expand gently as you breathe and let your belly soften.

Let the relaxation flow through your legs all the way down to your feet.

Let go of any physical tension.

Now imagine you're standing beside a calm flowing river.

The water is clear and steady,

Moving gracefully over rocks and around bends.

This river represents the flow of life,

Ever-changing,

Ever-moving.

It carries you forward even when you cannot see what lies ahead.

As you stand by the river notice the things you're holding onto,

The worries,

The uncertainties,

The need to control outcomes.

Imagine placing these burdens into a small boat resting on the surface of the water.

When you're ready,

Gently push the boat into the river.

Watch as it drifts away,

Carried easily by the current.

Let go.

Trust that the river knows where it's going.

As you let the boat drift away,

Repeat these affirmations silently or aloud.

I release what I can't control.

I trust in the flow of life.

Peace is available to me in this moment.

Feel the weight lifting from your mind and body.

Take a moment to acknowledge your own resilience.

Even in uncertainty,

You have the strength to navigate life's challenges.

Trust that you are exactly where you need to be right now.

Breathe deeply,

Knowing that peace is within you,

Waiting to be embraced.

When you're ready,

Bring your awareness back to the present moment.

Notice the surface beneath you,

The sounds around you,

The rhythm of your breath.

Take a deep inhale and a long,

Slow exhale.

Wiggle your fingers and toes and when it feels right,

Gently open your eyes.

Thank yourself for showing up today and for trusting in the power of letting go.

This was quite helpful for me, as I navigate taking care of elderly parents from 4 hours away.
