The Dao Of Effortless Action - by Mark Mathews

COURSE

The Dao Of Effortless Action

With Mark Mathews

This course is structured as a five-day journey, with each day offering a clear lesson rooted in Taoist philosophy, a guided exercise, and simple practices to explore between sessions. You will be introduced to core Taoist principles such as wu wei (effortless action), natural timing, softness, non-resistance, and alignment with the way life already moves. Each lesson helps you identify where you are over-efforting, controlling, or pushing against yourself and the world, often without realising it. Through reflective exercises and embodied practices, you will learn how to respond rather than react, act with clarity instead of strain, and trust subtle signals over forceful effort. Between lessons, you will be given practical, low-pressure practices to apply in daily life, allowing the philosophy to become lived experience rather than abstract ideas. By the end of the course, you can expect a clearer sense of when to act and when to wait, reduced inner friction around decisions, and a more relaxed, confident relationship with action itself. This is not about doing less, but about acting from alignment rather than struggle, so life feels more fluid, responsive, and sustainable over time.

I am so grateful for this course. I am experiencing a long-term serious illness which effects my breathing. As a result, my usual way oof being "The One" who is count-on-able, the 77-year -old matriarch of family of 6 children, their spouses, and 23 grand- and great-grandchildren has gone kaput. I am also an Interspiritual Minister and Counselor with a focus on people in the margins. This course dovetails beautifully with my lessons in humility and presence, and I will share what I've learned in my daily messages to subscribers, many of whom are incarcerated. Staying present to the gift of each moment is challenging for anyone in this world of competition and accomplishments, but especially for those who are incarcerated and/or seriously ill. I thank you for being my ally in living as an instrument of peace. Love & Blessings, Rev. Julie Christine
