Good morning,

I'm so glad you're here.

This short meditation is here to help you meet the day from a place of steadiness and calm.

You don't need to force motivation or pretend to be ready.

Just start here,

Where you are,

And let this time bring you back to yourself.

If you can,

I'd recommend making this a small part of your morning each day.

Just a few quiet minutes that center you before the world begins will help you to move through the day with more ease,

Presence and clarity.

Take a moment to find a comfortable position.

You might be sitting upright in bed,

Lying down,

Or perhaps on a chair with both feet resting flat on the floor.

Let your spine lengthen slightly,

Your shoulders soften and your hands rest loosely in your lap.

Close your eyes if that feels right,

And begin with a slow breath in through the nose,

And a gentle exhale through the mouth.

Again,

Breathing deeply,

Feeling the air expand your chest,

And exhale,

Releasing the night,

Releasing whatever you carried from yesterday.

With each breath,

Feel yourself arriving,

Fully awake,

Fully here.

Notice the rhythm of your breath,

How it moves in and out without effort.

That simple natural movement is life itself,

It's a reminder that you don't have to control everything,

Some things are already taking care of you.

Now bring your awareness to the sounds around you,

Perhaps you can hear birds,

The hum of morning life,

Or the quiet stillness of your room.

Let those sounds remind you that a new day is beginning,

Fresh,

Unwritten,

Waiting to unfold.

Take another breath in,

A little deeper this time,

And feel the cool air enter in your body,

And as you breathe out,

Imagine releasing the residue of sleep,

Any tension,

Any doubt.

Today doesn't need to be perfect,

It just needs you,

Awake,

Aware and open to what comes.

Now silently repeat these phrases after me,

Letting them settle as gentle truths.

I greet this day with calm.

I trust myself to handle what comes.

I move through today with clarity and grace.

I am exactly where I need to be.

Pause here for a few quiet breaths.

You might notice light behind your closed eyelids,

Or warmth across your face.

Imagine that light growing,

A soft golden glow,

Expanding with each breath,

It fills your chest,

Then your arms,

Then your whole body.

That light is your awareness,

Calm,

Focused,

Alive.

Let that light become your starting point,

From here you can speak,

Move,

Create and connect from a grounded place.

Just take one last deep breath in,

And exhale nice and slowly.

When you are ready,

Begin to open your eyes,

Notice the colours of the morning,

The texture of light in the room.

Let this clarity stay with you as you step into your day.

Welcome back.

Thank yourself for taking these few minutes to arrive before the world begins pulling at your attention,

Carry this stillness with you quietly beneath everything else.

Each day you return to this meditation,

You'll feel the shift deepen,

A little more calm,

A little more clarity,

A little more you.

Sending love and light into the rest of your day.

Good morning.

Before the world starts pulling our attention, as Mark says, this is an ideal practice to invite awareness and light into our minds and bodies respectively. The warmth and cradle of light created by Mark's voice and the affirmations are perfect for mornings and can resonate through the day in all situations. As a new teacher on Insight Timer, Mark is one to follow and practise with more.

Perfect for Watching the dawning of a new day, like the phrase the day is yet to be written 😊
