Hi there and welcome to this morning wake-up meditation brought to you by Sleepy Beans.
You might still be feeling tired and that's okay.
Over this short meditation we will help you wake up your mind and body to get ready and start your day.
If it helps you can keep your eyes closed for now and we can stay here for a few seconds.
Now let's wake the body up with some gentle movements.
Start by slowly wiggling your tippy toes to create some energy.
Begin gently moving your knees up and down and up and down.
Gradually transferring the energy further up your body.
Gently move your hips from side to side feeling a gentle stretch as you sway from left to right.
Can you feel your body start to wake up gradually with each movement?
Take a nice deep breath in through your nose and when you exhale stretch your arms above your head as far as they can reach.
Feel the energy flow up through your body and arrive at your fingertips.
Shake your hands gently and move each finger one by one.
Gradually bring your arms down towards your side and allow the energy to loosen your shoulders.
Roll your shoulders in a circular motion going forwards and backwards.
Let's stay here for a moment and do a couple of breaths together.
Breathe in through your nose and slowly exhale to breathe out.
Time to start to gradually sit up and if you haven't already done so gently begin to open your eyes.
Now that we have woken up your body it's time to focus on your mind.
Think about your day ahead.
Take a deep breath in and try and clear your mind.
Now breathe out.
If any thoughts suddenly pop into your head that's okay.
Let them in then let them float away like a cloud carrying with it any worries or anxieties.
You are confident and excited for what today is going to hold.
Let's finish on some morning mantras to set the tone for the day.
You can repeat these in your head or you can say them out loud.
I believe in myself.
I am kind and caring.
I am open to learning new skills.
We hope this sets you up for having a great day and just remember if you ever need a quick boost of mindfulness we'll be here.
