Morning Energizing Breathwork

This is a gentle morning meditation to invite energizing positive energy as you start your day. Connect with your breath and body as you begin your day. This is a meditation for anyone, but especially open to beginners who want to start a breath practice.

Good morning.

Find a comfortable position,

One that's in an upright posture,

With your chin tucked in toward your chest,

Shoulders rolled back slightly,

And eyes gently closed.

Take a couple of deep,

Relaxing breaths,

And with each inhale,

Allow the airflow to begin to energize your body.

Inhaling deep into your lungs,

Feeling the belly expand,

And exhaling everything out fully.

Breathing in and breathing out,

Allowing your breaths to be slow and deep and calm.

Each breath you take brings in the fresh air that your body needs to begin your day.

Allow these breaths to fill you with the energy and release any fatigue that may be lingering.

Continue to focus on your breath for just a few more moments.

It doesn't matter what tasks you have for today,

Or what you have down on your to-do list.

This isn't a time to think about responsibilities.

This is the time to think about breathing in and breathing out.

So if those things come up into your mind during this meditation practice,

Allow your breath to gently push them away,

Knowing that you can pick them up when this meditation is over.

Breathing in new,

Refreshing energy.

Breathing out all tension and fatigue.

Breathing in positive energy.

Breathing out any negative feelings.

I want you to gently squeeze your hands into fists.

As you do this,

Feel the muscles in your arms and shoulders strengthen.

Feel how this strength and energy begin to flow through your body.

Squeezing gently and releasing the tension.

Share this with your breath,

Breathing in and squeezing gently and with your exhale letting go.

As you do this practice,

You begin to notice how good it feels to let this tension go.

As your body begins to awaken,

You can feel how warm and energetic you are starting to feel.

You let go of the squeezing and now just open and close your hands a few times instead.

Becoming mindful and grateful for how wonderful your body feels as it is starting to wake up.

Preparing to take action on anything that comes your way today and knowing that you will accomplish everything that you need to get done today with ease.

As you continue to breathe,

You allow yourself to be excited for today,

Ready for anything that can happen,

And preparing yourself for all the possibilities that are out there for you.

You can feel this positive energy flowing through your body now,

Energizing and invigorating you.

Now allow yourself a few gentle stretches to get your muscles going.

Go ahead and place your fingertips together and gently stretch your arms above your head,

Reaching for the ceiling and feeling the soft pull down your shoulders and inside of your body.

Maybe leaning side to side or swaying side to side,

Feeling your muscles begin to warm up and lowering your arms back down,

Feeling very comfortable.

Bringing your focus now to your toes,

Begin to wiggle your feet a little bit and as you flex your feet,

Feel the muscles in your legs enjoy this gentle stretch.

Breathe and express gratitude for your body as you spend this time waking up the legs,

Allowing them to become energized to move you forward through your day.

Now,

Resting the feet and enjoying the sensation of energy tingling through your toes,

Flowing through your ankles and all the way up your legs,

Allowing these sensations to wash over your entire body as you take another deep breath in and a long,

Slow,

Big breath out.

As you do this,

You begin to feel the energy move more freely through your body until your whole body is feeling more refreshed and awake.

Let's open the mind to positive thoughts so that we can have them carry us through the day.

If at any point in your day you experience stress or anxiety,

I invite you to take a few moments to breathe,

Just like you're doing now,

And repeat the following affirmations.

Feel free to repeat after me or simply listen to the following phrases,

It's completely up to you.

I am capable of achieving anything that I work for.

I deserve to be happy.

I am a strong individual and I am in charge of my life.

I accept myself for who I am.

I am proud of all my hard work and accomplishments.

I am grateful for my life.

I have so many wonderful qualities.

I am ready to jump into this day and handle anything that comes my way.

I will approach everything with grace and kindness.

I choose to be more calm and peaceful throughout the day.

As this practice comes to an end,

Take a few moments to notice how you feel.

Taking a few more big deep breaths to propel you towards a wonderful and productive day.

Begin to allow your senses to return to your surroundings,

Feeling the body and the breath,

The surface beneath you.

When you're ready,

Gently open your eyes and have a wonderful day.
